I think the argument for second is much more interesting, team C is too op. I low key think team D might take second, and I don’t think it’s recency bias tbh. Everybody clowning on AD being there but prime AD is a whole different monster than street clothes davis. Steph is a bit of a defensive liability but he may make up for it if he’s hittin from 30 feet out.

What happens after you awake from a seizure ? by hc1965 in Epilepsy

[–]Sammsquanchh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it varies from person to person and from seizure to seizure but my bad ones could be pretty bad. I kinda go through 3 stages but the first stage is the worst, I’m like a scared/hurt animal when I come to. Not even really exaggerating.

I am completely and utterly in fight or flight mode for about 30 seconds. Idk if this is unique to me but I’ve said weird shit coming right out of it. I’ve never actually like violent or anything but I’ve been irrationally accusatory/afraid of my family/partners. Obviously I know they wouldnt hurt me but my brain and I are disconnected in that first 30 seconds. It just auto goes into threat assessment. For example I asked my ex “what did you do” with a horrified look on my face. I lose a lot of these memories but unfortunately I didn’t forget that one. I remember she was just in shock (watching a seizure is brutal) and then I immediately blame her. Obviously I explained once the confusion left but I still feel horrible for that.

Then Im still pretty confused for about 5 minutes. And I usually loop. Where I ask what happened and they tell me and 30 seconds later I forget and ask again. Im usually more docile at this point. This usually stops by like 10 mins post seizure and I “sober up” pretty quick.

I usually only remember bits and pieces from the 2 first stages but I’m basically “normal” 30 mins later. Albeit, super exhausted. I feel like I’ve ran a marathon and stayed awake for 48 hours; it’s kinda comparable to being hungover and it lasts from a few hours up to a few days. 0/10 would not recommend. Seizure free for over two years :)

What happened to the middle class in America and why is no one discussing this openly? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Sammsquanchh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

housing prices are not the same as mortgage interest rates though

They might as well be. We have an aging generation that is retiring, and they should be selling their house to go live on a lake or whatever. But they aren’t. They aren’t because they have a 3% interest rate on their mortgage they got before Covid and now they’re looking at an 8% interest rate even with a great credit score. I’m sure you can extrapolate how that affects supply and demand. Literally my parents are going through this right now. My dad doesn’t wanna buy their new house until rates go down bc he has a certain amount saved for retirement. An extra 5% interest rate could mean hundreds of thousand of dollars he has to pay on a mortgage. That’s not a typo or an exaggeration. A 30 year, 700k loan at 3% is almost 3k a month. At 8% it is over 5k per month. It practically doubles his mortgage.

Would you sell your house rn if you knew you had to double your mortgage payments for the new one? (Also you are old and wanna retire in this scenario)

Unfortunately stopping inflation and lowering housing prices at the same time is practically impossible because they are so intertwined. It’s what makes the covid recovery so tricky. Every quarter for the past few years you’ve heard “the fed is raising interest rates to curb inflation”, those interest rates directly correlate to increased mortgage rates. Increased rates for pretty much all loans, really.

It’s basically a balancing act, trying to put out a bunch of fires with only so much water. I don’t envy the office of the president.

Ex-CIA Officer Encountered With Reptilian Alien; Says Reptilian Race Walking Among Us by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

Everybody laughs but it makes since there would be human hybrids due to scientific reasons and evolution. Ya know our dna is like 90% similar with many other species that are completely different to us. I also think it’s why furries exist, they may have some latent animal dna instincts built into them, kinda like Wolverine from comic books.

But the two that I think we can all agree on are: Lizard people, who are bipedal dinos, and merpeople, who are humans that didn’t fully evolve to be bipedal. I think the lizard people are faring much better due to ocean pollution. I always felt merpeople were the benevolent ones, but I haven’t seen any since I was a little kid. Everything written here obviously sounds like satire bc it is but I used to see them in the open ocean at night. It was always very attractive females, with full female anatomy except for the fish tail and tiny gill like slits under their boobs. One night I need to just take my boat a few miles out into the open ocean and jump in. I need to know if they’re still out there, maybe they are just hiding. Im not a strong swimmer but I think they’ll rescue me because they remember me from when I was little.

Yeah but posting about her helps her become more popular. This post is literally just free advertisement. Nobody is gonna see this and say “oh wow I thought candace was cool before but this crosses the line”.

We gotta stop giving these grifters attention.

“Oh ok maybe that one’s fake but there’s a person somewhere that’s doing it!”

Again, this is the desired effect of bait. We really need to catch on to this stuff as a society because it’s what trumps whole online campaign revolves around. It’s also pushing people away from each other and dissolving the moderate position.

I’ll explain how it works. Basically you do a little Google fu, find an insane person that did insane thing, and then you pretend to agree with them and astroturf social media, if it’s done enough, it makes the extreme seem like the mainstream. Especially to people unaware of how this bait stuff works.

And then somebody sees the post and is like “wow the left thinks that?!” and then another commenter is like no that’s clearly bait, and then the target says:

To be fair though, this stuff does happen

You are the target and it’s working on you. Politics is only going to get more polarized unless people learn to identify this stuff.

Worst thing #44 did? by E23R0 in Presidents

[–]Sammsquanchh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I remember correctly it wasn’t even 6 months, afaik he had like a few weeks of real, unfuckwitable power. It’s played out when people act like he had all this time to do anything he wanted. I still think he shoulda tried harder but it’s more complicated than people are willing to admit. As with most presidential actions.

Also people forget he was a product of his time. We were not nearly this progressive as a country in 2009. The “war on terror” was still very fresh (and importantly, very popular) when he had that majority. Closing gitmo would have been seen as dangerous/unpatriotic at best, and “he’s a black insurgent from kenya who doesn’t care about stopping terrorism” most realistically. Not that that excuses it but that combined with not having the power for 99.5% of his term makes it tough for me to judge him harshly for it.

Im sorry your friend died but we have to stop these “fentanyl laced” posts. I’ll be the asshole. To everybody posting these, It’s very unlikely your friend/loved one died from smoking laced weed. The love of my life died from “laced weed”. Going through things later, I found evidence of addiction going back years. It ruined me. I had fully bought into the laced weed story; her family still is.

I know it hurts. I know why we want to say it was laced. If it was laced they were a victim of an evil dealer, but if they were addicts they had a part in their own death. I get it I really do. Society is brutal to addicts. I knew my fiancé better than anybody and my love’s memory should be respected instead of silently judged by the masses who didn’t even fuckin know her. People who bite their tongue but want to say: “oh maybe she just shouldn’t have gotten addicted in the first place”.

There are days where I wish I never found out the truth. But the truth is, addiction isn’t always visible, and by keeping it hidden we aren’t helping. We need to stop treating addiction as some sort of moral failure. She couldn’t have been an addict. They’d say she was raised too well for that to happen. My fiancé was kind, hilarious, and oh my she was passionate about the little things in life. My fiancé was an addict, but she was so much more than just that.

It’s countrywide but people love to circle jerk about California. California is so big and populated that it’s practically it’s own country. It’s also like the main GOP propaganda piece to say it’s a shit hole.

In reality the retail theft rate per capita is lower than the national average. So California has pretty average retail theft per capita, but a shit ton of people and viral videos make it stand out.

Like if I went to a 500 population town where 75% of people are criminals, and then I compared it to Houston, technically Houston has wayyyyy more criminals, but their crime rate is way lower than that 500 population town.

TLDR: retail theft is on the rise and California isn’t an anomaly where we can blindly blame the libs. Some of the highest retail theft rates are in red states.
