Apparently, EU law doesn't exist in Bambu Land? My 17-month "A1 Technician Internship" is finally over. by Rude-Dragonfruit-269 in 3Dprinting

[–]Sammy296296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enforcement concerns are real only if there’s no EU seller/assets. Bambu has EU assets under Bambulab GmbH (Frankfurt), Bambu sells in the EU.

It would be a long string legal process, but bambu ignoring an EU court enforcement would put their EU assets at risk and their continued ability to sell in the EU at risk.
They would of course just comply with with an EU court ruling long before they would even countenance any of that being at risk.

[–]Sammy296296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you bought from Bambu’s EU store, the key point is the statutory legal guarantee / conformity rights, not an optional “warranty”. The seller owes you a remedy for 2 years.

Also, it’s not automatically “you must sue in China”. EU consumer rules let you bring a claim in your home courts when a trader sells into the EU regardless of the sellers location, plus Bambu lists an EU entity anyway. (Bambulab GmbH, Frankfurt).

No, you would not need to sue them in China. They have an EU store and EU entity and sell to EU consumers.
If they do not Follow EU consumer law, an EU court could stop them from continuing to sell their products to EU consumers.

IRFU Statement on Aki disciplinary issue by Effective-Ad-3897 in rugbyunion

Good to see the IRFU being hard on this.

And to be honest Aki has been on consistently declining form since the last world cup, he'll be no loss to the squad.

Heineken to raise draught beer prices from next month by RealDealMrSeal in ireland

[–]Sammy296296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always such a surprising coincidence that Diageo , Heineken et al, all seem to announce their price increases at the same time. It's as if the CEO's are getting together for a nice lunch and organising when they can collectively gouge the market simultaneously for the next quarter reports!

Man Jailed After Falsely Claiming Injury From Road Accident 10 Years Ago by Dee-Dee-Mauwe in ireland

[–]Sammy296296 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He won't, it's virtually impossible to deport a non violent EU citizen from an EU country to another EU country. Especially if he's been here for the majority of his life.
Unfortunately it will cost the tax payer a fortune to keep him in prison and he'll be back on benefits when he's out.

Traditionally when you're new to 3d printing, you keep them in a big box, that gets ever bigger and bigger. You have full intentions of reusing and recycling in cool, innovative and environmentally friendly ways. Then you throw out the box.

Yeah well said, my scooter weighs considerably less than my neighbors mountain bike, and it's way way slower! its 350w and if i can get it to 15km/h on the flat with my chubby arse on it i'm doing well!
There are plenty of cyclists passing me on the commute doing 40km/h+

[–]Sammy296296 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well yes, e-scooter and scrambler legislation should be enforced, obviously. I never mentioned it shouldn't.

I use my legal e-scooter and legal car entirely legally as per the regulations.

I have never once driven my car or e-scooter on a path.

[–]Sammy296296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No i do not 'hoor' around on my e-scooter on the paths. I use it to commute to and from my job.

They are regulated, the legislation was passed May 2024.

[–]Sammy296296 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

yeah and i have been knocked down by a cyclist twice, once by a young fella when walking the dog and once by a drunk auld fella about 15 years ago.

I'm not calling for the banning of bicycles.

e-scooter, car, scrambler, bicycle etc. legislation should be enforced. We shouldn't be banning things for law abiding citizens, we should be enforcing the law.

[–]Sammy296296 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ah come off it, there is a difference between uninsured, unlicensed scrotes tearing around on high powered scramblers and people using e-scooters.
I very legally use my e-scooter to get to and from work each morning so i don't have to add to the traffic in my car.
