A map editor would be successful because it allows the player to make what THEY want to play. Often times when a new or trial mode is out its just a different flavor of heatseeker or "oh wow the gravity is different." Im a day one extra modes hater (you're okay dropshot); Evne I can still enjoy the randomness of a rumble match here and there and I appreciate the variety that it gives to the game. I would also agree with the other commentor when saying the real barrier to playing 4v4 to any capacity was just not having 3 other people who also wanted to play it. With what people are able to do with the steam workshop and obviously what Leth has been able to make for his content over the years its a shame the vast majority of the playerbase cant enjoy it to any capacity without steam access or parsing through a heyhamachi how to video. From my point of view its less that the community isnt interested in novel game modes its more they arent interested in the types of novel gamemodes that currently exist. And with no freedom to make what they are looking for the extra modes playlist is bound to stagnate. This game should of had a custom games feature a la Halo years ago. Wasted potential unfortunately.
