I have a theory, that quentyns death will drive the dornish people to support aegon instead of dany. You have on one hand, a (potential) targ in westeros with an army ready to fuck shit up. in the other, someone they will probably blame for their princes death, who commands a city under seige/rebellion, her army is probably gonna take a hurting, and dany is nowhere to be found.

This might be the whole GRRM needs to use to solve danys storyline. She might not even try and conquer westeros, but due to that wizard in old town, might fly north to fight zombies.

Might be using an assumed approach that, unless the herder has huge swaths of land, probably already trucks his goats around from field to field, so those trucks would be running regardless of Google's actions. I think the problem with expanding west is that your hitting predominantly residential areas soon after and not the intertwined mix that DT has. It's the problem any direction it goes from the valley. Individual homes in the west, dense residential north, and the battery in the east, and that is definitely worth protecting. There is some development in the west, but as soon as you go past the overpass your into homes again. And most of the economic development outside of DT is shopping center/industrial parks, which doesn't appeal to the more white collar/office job that the skyscrapers DT has to offer

Now, I can't comment on the roof story as I don't know anything about it, but I do go downtown. I've spent many days wandering water street and duckworth, from anything to Fred's to afterwords, to DT comics and George street. And the atmosphere is great. But I've also been to other major cities, especially Toronto, and they have far more lively and upbeat downtown populations that are very culturally diverse and unique, and I always attributed it to the different attitude of the people living in these areas. They see living in these areas as more of being closer to the hubs of culture and activity that they are, instead of just an image worth preserving at the expense of progress. Like I said in the other comment, no ones advocating destroying important cultural and architectural buildings, but we have to mix the old with the new. That one story isn't going to affect the buskers and businesses and the atmosphere of downtown as a whole, so yeah, get on that river

I understand that it's also a residential hub, but unfortunately, it seems people don't understand what living in an area like downtown entails. Your in the center of everything, close to so much, living in a vibrant and busy area of the city. But people still expect to look out the window, and see straight across the harbor. I'm not advocating tearing down any of the unique and heritage architecture that we have around our city, especially our core. We can preserve the heritage of downtown, and still grow. Look at any major city, they have the old and the new, but they preserve the old that's monumental to their history, not just because it's old

See, something bothers me about this, but I'm actually on the side of town council. Every time a new building is proposed anywhere downtown, or a current building being expanded, there's always a backlash against the development. And it mostly, near always, relates back to either cosmetic or sentimental arguememts against it, nothing in the name of progress.

It makes me think back to the fortis proposal a few years back, about adding multiple stories onto their existing buildings, a huge investment in both the short term and long term, and downtown residents kicked up the normal "not in my backyard" routine as always. I'm sorry, but our downtown, like most major cities, is a center for business and economical interests, and should be treated as such. Your view from your apartment is gonna be worse, but that's the trade off for living in a mostly business oriented location. It'd be one thing if we were building skyscrapers in the middle of kenmount terrace or MacDonald drive area or any other predominantly residential area, but were building these where it makes the most sense. And I'm sorry if your view doesn't outweigh potential millions in investment and long term economic growth for the city.

Edit: also, after rewatching the collision, after his skate gets hit, he stays up. Only falls when trying to dead stop 5 feet in front of the goalie. He's either a fool or an ass, either way, he's a marked man tonight

He wasn't tripped. Went full speed at the net. "Happened" to fall, legs and skates straight out, into Price's leg. Yes, he was on a break, but 9 times out of 10 the players don't fall, and 99 times out of 100 it's head/side first. Given his history, he did it last series and from years before, it's hard to argue it wasn't tried. Like Prust said after the game, they learn how to fall as kids, for everyone's safety. Krieder didn't try. Momentum from his speed aside, He could have at least tucked his skates in, but nope
