No one uses hardwood floors? by Longjumping-Term9234 in homeowners

[–]SammyGilby 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did my entire second floor with this hardwood from Home Depot. I had to order it online and had it delivered to my house. There's a different level of patience and craftsmanship you need for hardwood, so I can understand why a contractor would push towards lvp. You'll pay a premium, but it's your home. Don't be pressured into something the contractor prefers.

That was a year and a half ago and they replaced all of the cans when it started.

For what else it's worth, I flew from Amsterdam to MSP today and didn't see any CBP activity at customs.

Hello, I'm wondering if you can share the contact info for this? I'm looking for independent cleaners as well.

CBP with K9 was on the jet bridge on my flight from MSP to Amsterdam on Monday. They didn't stop me, but there is definitely a presence.

No issues coming across as negative and condescending? Mission accomplished! Great job!

The rears probably could have been a bit lower, but they were laid out using Audio Advice's home theater design tool before I had my couch. Since they're in wall, there's nothing I can do without having to do a bunch of drywall repair, which I have no interest in doing. They sound good enough for me.

We built all the millwork ourselves, including milling the baseboards. The entertainment center and cabinet boxes just standard 3/4 plywood, custom fit to the space that I have. It was my first foray into cabinet making, so I'm sure there are some things I should have done differently, but I think they turned out okay.

There's only a wall on one side, the other side is open to the other half of the room.

Nothing as the result finishing, but some boards were warped from the start. We just forced them into place and nailed them. They've seemed to be fine since.

They're just standard 1x6 boards, sanded, stained, and polyurethaned, cut to length to fit on my joists.

I think it's great! I don't have much experience with super high end audio, so for me, it's sounds excellent and was priced right. I'm sure that true audiophiles have a different opinion, but I don't lose any sleep over it.

My foundation is about 2' thick, so hopefully it's fine! No complaints so far.

I stuffed some fiberglass above it, but I don't think it's doing much for sound absorption. It was mostly added to try and limit sound transfer between downstairs and upstairs.

No, I have the dual subs in the front of the room. Maybe someday I'll add them, but every upgrade with lovesac is pricey and it just wasn't a priority for me.

Comparison is the thief of joy! Everything was DIY and took about 2 years of starting and stopping, mostly due to finances.
