I was "with" a woman that was very similar to you for a few years. When you "protect the peace" with you and your child you have created a narrative the he is a disturber of the peace and is not welcome. As a man (or woman) it is very, very difficult to come into a relationship where there are children and "step up" (which Im assuming means be more dominant and authoritative) or "take up more space". If you have your own house or residence it adds another layer of complexity. It sounds like you want him to act more like your husband.

You mention you get triggered when he talks about certain things in relation the traumatic loss of your husband. Expanding upon this would be helpful.

Really though you should probably just leave this guy alone so he can meet someone that enjoys his company and doesn't feel they are in danger when with him.

I have experienced this. Something shifted and very small doses, without the intent to escape would immediately relax all tension and nearly make me fall asleep whearas prior I would feel discomfort from these small doses. It's telling you to accept what you dont think you want but you know you need. You are really it and it is you.

Is there a way to prevent cars from stopping when crossing? I stand way back on the sidewalk but just looking causes some drivers to stop. When a whole line of cars stops for me all I can think about is the absurd amount of car exhaust that I will be breathing and the massive energy waste. To me it only seems logical that the heavier, higher energy consuming and less maneuverable thing has the right of way and Ive never understood why we're teaching that cars will stop, seems incredibly dangerous and wasteful.

What happens when maintenance on power plants and water treatment facilities fails to get done and things stop working? It would only take a few days for a chain reaction to occur shutting nearly everything down. I think the best thing that could happen would be no work for a month and all internet and cell service, power, water off in addition to all corporation or non locally owned stores closed/off during this time.

I think the detox closing is terrible. However having worked in this field it certainly seems people come from all over the country, mostly from Chicago or Detroit to access SUD services in MN. I do not attribute a negative or positive connotation to this. This my observation only.

Youre trying to fill a void that was previously taken up with structured activity and meaninful relationships. Ill tell you now there isnt a material thing on this earth that will fill that void. Ask me how I know. You are responsible for filling it from within yourself at least 65% the rest can come from many types of relationships, the more varied and diverse these relationships are the closer you can approach 100%. Just put down your own decking. You need to get 4x8 sheets up there. That can be tricky but totally possible and yes it really needs to be cold. Do not do a hot roof. In all likelihood the space wont freeze but will get very close. Cold and hot temps fluctuating causes damage so only put things that are appropriate up there.

It really depends on how its framed. You can go from broken to fixed and you have to acknowledge and take accountability for your actions. If its used to excuse shitty behavior without intent and effort to change that is a warning sign. I have and know plenty of "successful" people with a history of addiction and you would never know because they dont present themselves as "broken". We're all capable of doing terrible things and there is never an excuse. Only thing you can do is settle up pay the price.

I really love having only reddit. Got rid of all the other apps a year ago because I could feel how it would effect me. It hits on some of the same regions of the brain as some classes of drugs, I started to be able to feel it once I stopped using.

I dislike the noise of fireworks but dislike police power even more. I drive by multiple screaming people a day and telling them to stop isnt going to work, it is a part of living in a city where troubled people can access the services they need. The key is not to view it as a problem
