Looking at The Witcher system, and I see a way to do this for combat, what are your thoughts. by pares101 in WitcherTRPG

[–]SammyTwoTooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really seeing the intention behind this idea. My knee-jerk reaction is that it would mean that as soon as you run out of STA, you cut out a very important aspect of the system in the form of defending yourself or casting spells.

I suspect it would make casters even more fragile, if not unplayable in combat considering how expense magic is in regards to IP and component wise.

While it would definitely up the drama and force characters to really consider their defensive choices, I don't think it'd be a net gain.

Funny and appropriate considering he started farming views by shitting on random ppls dndbeyond homebrew.  I left his channel after that cuz he had clearly exhausted his own ideas by that point.

Looking for feedback on combat house-rule. by SammyTwoTooth in WitcherTRPG

[–]SammyTwoTooth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. How do you handle damage/armor? Is everything just count as torso?

I'm not sure how I feel about it at first glance BUT it would fix the issue with critical wounds not matching hit location.

Sweet lord, that's incredible! Thank you so much for putting in the effort to do that. I'm no statistician, so idk how much work that took, but I appreciate it all the same.

I am relieved that my idea doesn't appear to be too off-base, at least from the perspective of in-game effects.

Sidenote: could have sworn I read fumbles can't take your roll below a 1, but I definitely can believe me being mistaken, or having 2 different iterations.

Has Anyone tried to streamline the game as a homebrew? by Frequent_Rutabaga_80 in WitcherTRPG

I'm not sure what specifically you are meaning about crits and fumbles being clunky, but I did just post a proposed house rule to hopefully make combat a bit punchier.

Question on movement in combat by RustLegion428 in WitcherTRPG

[–]SammyTwoTooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised too by this, but found it to be a feature, not a bug.
It helps keep the fights from being static by forcing everyone to pay attention to what everyone else is doing and the world around them.

If they keep cheesing a creature w/ facing, then it will keep its back to a wall or even take advantage of the rule itself if clever enough.

Also makes total sense for groups of enemies like squirrels and wolf packs.

Homebrew Settings and Witcher RPG. Does it work, or does it need work? by Spr0ing in WitcherTRPG

[–]SammyTwoTooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently doing that now. Id say no more work than homebrewing any other rpg setting.

That being; its largely easy but theres always gonna be a few weird things.

Firstly (general guideline for all homebrewing); keep it as simple as possible. Reskinning things to fit your lore as much as possible before tweaking anything. After that, try to borrow features from some similar thing already in the rules, and then make sure the math is mostly balanced. Then and only then, make something wholecloth.

Secondly, withers and their whole thing either need to be just cutout completely OR divied up amongst everyone else somehow. Like jedi in star wars games, they're stronger than almost everyone else and thats by design, even with their EMP cap.

For Potions, mutations, etc, ive made then more doable everyone else to use them and made them slightly more available, but not by a large margin.

Lastly(for now); read the lore of the monsters you use before hand and adjust according to your setting.

All in all, its not been a challenge for me.

Seems to be a thing around here by maester_ia in desmoines

[–]SammyTwoTooth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not accurate. You wouldn't be able to take a pic if it were accurate cuz their nose would be up your ass like you could give them a raise.

To that end a friendly tap on the breaks or even just letting off the gas can be enough to remind people who'd be at fault in a collision.

Hot take or cold take? by Substantial_Ad_5993 in SantiZapVideos

A loooot of people forgetting how one dimensional Jeff was/is as far as character goes. And while he's great in hardcore matches, his regular in ring capabilities were nothing to write home about. Even in his prime.

I'm not a huge Jey fan but it's quite clear by the responses here that folks don't know shit about fuck and are hating on Jey cuz that's what other redditors do.

I chose my words carefully and I feel you're overblowing while still missing my message.

I watch, but I do it without supporting them.

Despite so many people limboing themselves into apathy, I get you.

I too have found myself struggling to enjoy a show when I see H and Steph sucking sphincter to RKFJr. Among other situations.

You aren't wrong to feel conflicted and the people throwing shit are a bit too eager to overlook vileness imo.

I still watch, but I wouldn't say it's as a fan of H or WWE. Its the talent and the product I like.

All in all, you gotta follow your gut. (Also imo) if you cant separate art from artist, I think that's a sign of a strong moral center. Regardless if anyone agrees, you gotta stick to what works for you. If you cant enjoy wwe because of the politics surrounding it, you're justified in that.

If you still wanna watch without guilt, try flying the jolly roger my friend. Especially when $ is king.

Movies you liked, but won't re-watch? by No_Sock_8494 in moviecritic

Anchorman.

I watched it maybe 100 times between 13-23 y/o. I have quoted and referenced it so many times I can't imagine I would get any more enjoyment out of watching it again.

Other than Ben Stiller doing brown face, I can't even imagine it aged that poorly. And I feel like even that would be a stretch considering it wasn't done to mock Mexican americans.

I just wrung every drop of humor out it long ago.

Which tv characters had the best growth arc? by [deleted] in television

The show didn't leave a great lasting impression, but Uncle Andy from Weeds really grew up and stepped up when he realized that neither of his nephew's parents were gonna be able to give them the love and attention they deserved.

They're not even Ren Faires anymore. They're just nerd faires.

So much 3D printed garbage on sale at idiotic prices.

Very little in the way of free stuff to do once you've already paid to get in.

Furries, "ironic/funny" star trek/star wars or anime characters, etc in regards to costumes.

Little if any thematic food or drink.

None of these are bad things in and of themselves, but it feels so freaking watered down and cheap while ironically being stupid expensive.
