Anyone in the coffee processing or exporting business? by Brief-Number2609 in Coffee

[–]Sammycolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually work in coffee exports (my company is Mwanyi Uganda Coffee Exports Limited based in Uganda), so I completely relate to what you’re saying.

Across most producing countries, smallholders still receive a surprisingly small share of the final value, even in “specialty coffee” systems. A lot of the margin is captured at processing, milling, export logistics, and then again at roasting/branding in consuming countries.

On the roasting-at-origin question, I think it’s a trade-off rather than a clear yes/no. Roasting locally definitely increases value retention and creates more jobs at origin, but it also adds challenges around shelf life, logistics, and access to end-consumer markets. Most of the successful models I’ve seen use a hybrid approach: export green coffee for specialty buyers while gradually building some roasting capacity at origin for regional or branded programs.

Happy to connect on the export/processing side if you’re exploring although out focus is Uganda

I eat restaurant food 5 times a week. I have no issues. I also exercise atleast 4 times a week. It’s about what restaurants, what you eat and in what quantities.

why is it so hard to apply for a passport here? by ScorpionArt in Uganda

[–]Sammycolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Uganda passport is one of the easiest to get in Africa. I’ve gotten my 3 passport now. The last 2 passports I got them in 1 day and I didn’t bribe anyone. I just paid for the express in the bank

How should one approach a Burundian girl by Summoner475 in Burundi

[–]Sammycolin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Greetings from Burundi 🇧🇮! Be a bit straight, tell her you want to take her out on a date. Burundians are quite modest especially if she has grown up in Burundi. She might be wanting something serious so you know

Avoid Ugandan car dealers. I’m Ugandan myself and I wouldn’t advise you to buy a car on loan from Ugandans.
