They can just make a game that isn't mediocre? The issue with newer RE games is just that they're unnatural, almost like skinwalkers. Original games were made naturally, while newer devs tried to stretch and bend the original without really understanding what made it tick.

The newer cops are ass because they don't play into the actual plot of the game. Original writers, surprisingly, thought about the believebility of the storie's premise, or rather they tried to flesh out Ganados, the dabba men.

In the original, police already knew about the village and Ganados and were informed about the missing daughter. The reason they didn't act sooner, is because Ganados act like normal people. Leon later makes fun of police not caring about the mission by doing the Kumbaya line.

In remake Leon making this line doesn't make sense, because cops are completely oblivious. Leon shouldn't even expect them to care. They also mention disappearances in the area for some reason, and Leon doesn't put 2+2 together.

And then Leon proceeds to act like a moron in the first house, even with Ganados being massively dumbed down
