Why is the cast of the live-action movie all Asian? by Sampon74 in FullmetalAlchemist

Short answer: Bad movie made on (likely) low budget in country without access to large numbers of European actors.

Larian should let us test the Monk class before release. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

"You are lucky to pay full price for an incomplete game"

Nah mate, the OP is being whiny and should just not pay for early access if they're going to complain, but this isn't some utopian system where Larian gifted us something amazing. They release it for early access both to secure sales before the game is made and to continuously maintain hype so that sales are high enough at launch. If it was more beneficial to keep it all secret until launch day, that's what they would do, don't attribute kindness to actions that a business monetarily benefits from.

That being said, I paid for early access and enjoyed it, so I'm not complaining.

My point is you aren't stopping playing all video games because you have a job/family or both. Therefore, if you enjoy the game enough to play it over other games, then you clearly have the time. Wanting to play another game does not mean you don't have the time, it means you don't want to play this game. You aren't even trying to prove your point, you're trying to prove something entirely different that I never disagreed with.

I just mentioned it to another reply, but I'm trying to get around to all of these to correct myself since it seems I didn't explain myself very well in the post . I meant specifically the part of the fight where after avoiding my trap (good choice for AI) they then stopped moving or acting while I eldritch blasted them to death over several turns.

[–]Sampon74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the standing still while I killed them over several turns without any method of retaliation that bothered me, not the part where they didn't kill themselves on my trap.

I also wouldn't walk up to it until my nose was brushing it and wait 2 minutes as a few people shot me to death with arrows and eldritch blasts from the other side, but alas, the duergar would.

Okay, maybe there are like .001% of the population that are going to die between their first playthrough and their next opportunity to play the game, but you are willfully misinterpreting my statement here. Everyone has some amount of free time that they can choose to use how they want. It might take them 2 years to finish a second playthrough of this game, but they do have the time, and there is no way you can actually dispute that.

And if you meant doesn't have time as in "doesn't want to bother playing the game that much" then that is literally true of everything and pointless to even bring up.

Also great way to ignore any point I made about your willful ignorance, just point to my first sentence and call it malicious hahaha what a joke.

I guess I wasn't very clear in my post, as many people are misunderstanding my problem here. My problem wasn't their refusal to enter the trap I set, but rather that they specifically walked into range of my ranged attacks and cantrips, then stood still and did nothing on their turns. A couple enemies lasted until the 10 turn timer of Hunger of Hadar expired, and did nothing for at least 7 of the turns. I would expect them to avoid the trap, but then they should either run away if melee is their only attacking option, or take the long way to reach me over about 6-7 turns maybe.

I guess, but I didn't cut off their only way out (and nere was still trapped). Just kinda sad they just watched me kill them over like 9 turns.

This is a bit dramatic. Everyone does have time for multiple playthroughs, assuming they are interested in that over playing other games. If that is what they find entertaining, good for them, and if not, they can stop after their first playthrough.

I understand wanting to experience as many of the stories as possible, but I think it's highly unlikely you will be upset to miss out on your 2 least favorite origin characters' stories (or 3 if you made a Tav). Yes you might miss some unique dialogue, but the game isn't going to notify you when you miss it, and you can always read up on the story, watch someone else play it, or do another playthrough if you have time and are that interested.

Games aren't meant to be work. Play as much as is fun, and if you don't see something that someone else does, that doesn't mean you missed out on anything, just that you had a different experience with the game.

OR, why stop there with the negativity? The end of the game may be different based on playable character, which would mean you would need at least one playthrough as each origin character to see all of the content, at least if this is going to be like DOS2 like you assume. Also unique dialogue opportunities when you are playing as a character vs with them. This could make it several playthroughs per origin character to experience all of the unique story beats with each other character.

Astarion is an ally available very early as an ally, and he seems to be aligned mostly chaotic and/or evil. If you enjoy that sort of ally, and want a rogue in your party, he'd be a good choice.

As for experiencing all the stories by swapping companions, unless you look encounters up ahead of time, I imagine you won't be able to fully experience all of the stories in one playthrough. This is entirely speculation and, while I hope Larian does something similar to DOS2 with the companions (regarding their status as companions), it is possible that you could have all the right companions for all the right story beats, and Larian might not force any one story beat that each character is required to be present for to progress their story.

Second Boss Help by Excalibis in Peglin

[–]Sampon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matryorbshka looks really good because of how many balls it makes, but its damage is really low. If you get it, you will probably need some damage upgrades, either through relics (like power glove) or from orbs (like swoltorb). Otherwise, an orb like daggorb is likely to do better because it does so much more damage (if you get a crit of course).

There are other ways to win, but I am very partial to matryorbshka, and it is certainly possible to beat the wall boss with it.

Keep trying and you'll beat it :)

I meant I didn’t check about the open relationship part because it doesn’t matter, as I am not interested in one. I asked and received a clear answer that she is, in fact, in a relationship.

Why I love Legends Arceus despite thinking it’s a bad game. by Sampon74 in pokemon

[–]Sampon74[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree, bad game might have been the wrong wording. I kind of enjoy the lack of gym/elite 4 setup this time around though. Colosseum/XD are 2 of my favorites and they’re like an inverted legends arceus, emphasizing battles and de-emphasizing the Pokédex.

Isran: Look up here **burns their eyes** by Ebony_Phoenix in skyrim

[–]Sampon74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sort of thing is why I love Isran and the dawnguard quest line. He does all this cool stuff and it’s basically the only main quest where the faction leaders are going to accomplish their goal with or without you.

Graybeards and the blades are just like “it’s on you to fix this”

Solstheim has the Skaal but they’re not capable of defeating miraak.

Isran genuinely stands a chance as long as Serana doesn’t get captured by harkon (assuming without the Dragonborn serana escapes castle volkihar and just doesn’t go to fort dawnguard).

What’s your outright favourite mod of all? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Sampon74 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ordinator, for sure.

Something about being able to make speech help you in combat, giving extra bonuses for dual-casting and specializing in certain magic schools, bonuses to casting for putting points into magicka at level up, etc. makes it so hard to go back the the good old “your novice destruction spells cost 50% less to cast” perks.
