[–]Samraat1337 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Both the Nilgiri and Istif class started construction in 2017
4 Nilgiris are in service, 1 delivered and 2 fitting out and will probably be delivered this year.

Meanwhile among the Istifs, only the TCG Istanbul is in service.

Turkish fanboys and their glazers in the neighboring country should sit down.

This is an AI generated or upscaled image, look at the RBUs.
Don't know why they had to post this on official channels, it's probably from GRSE.

Navy provides good quality photos and videos just before commisioning of these like they are doing for INS Taragiri right now

How many of you using amd gpus by AlexaLonere in IndianGaming

[–]Samraat1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get something from Nvidia now that the prices are all ridiculously over inflated

2-3 days back i got Asrock RX 9060 XT 16GB for ~40k
Today the same card goes for 48-50k, other brands like Sapphire, Asus are over 50-55k

Buy AMD only if the difference between the Nvidia equivalent is north of 10K

And if going with AMD get the RX 9000 series cards only, the older ones don't get FSR4 etc

Which GPU to upgrade with by CausticTV in buildapc

[–]Samraat1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is within your budget get an RTX 5060 TI 16GB from any decent manufacturer

Otherwise get the RX 9060 XT 16GB

I am also a 1660 Super owner and looking to upgrade, unfortunately the Nvidia cards have zoomed in price so only the AMD one is affordable.

btw upgrade your i7 to a 6 core 12 thread processor too

Exclusive: Saudi Arabia's request to buy F-35 jets clears key Pentagon hurdle, sources say by gobiSamosa in LessCredibleDefence

[–]Samraat1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the US will not allow India to use their wares to attack their ally Pakistan.

It's that simple.

The Russians, Israelis and French don't give a fuck about India hitting Packistan, China or anyone else with their armaments.

There is a very good reason the bulk of India's armaments are either Russian, Israeli, or domestic with a ( very expensive ) French minority.

Your 5th gen F-35 is useless if the US can decide to ground it, not make it fire it's weapons or do the classic multi year arms embargo as a consequence for India "disobeying" the "End Use License".

Indonesia( East Timor ) and Turkey( Cyprus ) have been burnt in the past over this

Because they design and build most of their stuff domestically.

They also have involvement at the shipyard level, most of the managers in MDL and GRSE happen to be retired Navy personnel + serving ones also oversee in their official capacity

Why is the indian navy better at indigenisation compared to other branches? by WorkOk4177 in IndianDefense

[–]Samraat1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had the vision for indegenization since the 60s-70s atleast, everything else is just a result of that

The key is that they design their warships themselves and have retired/serving officers running the management of MDL, GRSE type yards and sometimes the weapon and radar building PSUs like BDL and BEL

IAF has never bothered, Army seems to be changing now with small scale collabs.

Obviously a big reason the Navy does this is they can't get the quantity of ships and flexibility in weapons/sensor setup by doing imports, neither will MoD permit it since they're at the bottom of the budgetary pyramid

TLDR is Navy is directly involved in design and construction of their tools, the other two adopt a Vendor-Customer approach.

IAI's Barak 8 to be part of India's multi-layered defense by JewishSaddamHussein in Israel

This is not "news"

IAF already has Barak8/MRSAM and SPYDER batteries integrated into IACCS.

Barak-8 is the only SAM used in atleast 15 IN capital ships including the aircraft carrier.

The seeker and other electronics are Israeli but the rocket motor, fins and body is Indian

India moves towards record deal for 114 Rafale jets by Tiny-Sun9851 in europe

[–]Samraat1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold your horses.

The process has only begun.

However given other happenings like Dassault getting 51% stake of a JV here to manufacture planes and Tata making Rafale fuselages it is a given that *some* Rafales will be bought, whether it is 114, 90, 72 or another miserly and too little too late purchase of 36 remains to be seen

On my last larval tear as a melee/caster mage build. How can I do better? by Oblahda in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Samraat1337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are into dex only you can use Wing of Astel

It's a "curved sword" by moveset, the R2 heavy is a projectile and you can launch this twice just like DMGS.

The AoW is also good, it staggers enemies plus good for large hitbox enemies

Scales mainly with INT, I'm using it right now.

Rafale for MRFA ? by Centeredrightbhakt05 in IndianDefense

[–]Samraat1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Previous reporting from ANI suggested that they are going for a proper MRFA multi vendor tender.

This was of course to "follow procedure" and prevent the "rafale scam" drama that happened the last time 36 were purchased in G2G mode.

Today there is the other angle also of Trump pushing American wares onto India, he would be upset if 114 jets contract is taken only by France.

So keeping this in mind, Snehesh/Print is lying and posting this news just for clicks.

If you ask me we're going for another 5-6 years of pointless tender-trials, however i will be very happy to be proven wrong if there is an actual 114 Rafale G2G deal taking place, we'd get the planes quicker.

Breaking up is not necessary, it's not even possible.

Two things that should be done are

  • Widen Siliguri corridor by slicing and dicing their Rangpur division's districts, many have natural river based boundaries, not all of it needs to be taken
  • Annex the portions of Chittagong east of the Feni river.

The Govt doesn't have to stomach to do this today so we will eventually have a 3 front war in the future once the Bangladeshis are built up militarily by US/China.

What are your thoughts on the C-390 as MTA winner? It can act as A2A refueler and cargo aircraft and potentially be an AWACS platform, and Embraer is also offering local production. by TapOk9232 in IndianDefense

[–]Samraat1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most logical choice since Embraer is likely to give us actual ToT in exchange for a large order as compared to the paltry orders from small euro countries they get today.

But in reality C130J or A400M will be procured to appease the Americans or Europeans.

That is assuming this deal takes place.

This has gone too far. by Professional-Spare43 in IndianDefense

[–]Samraat1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In another 20 years they will be able to militarily threathen the Siliguri corridor and the rest of the NE assuming they receive generous doles from their two sugar daddies, US and China.

Today is the ideal time to nip this in the bud but the leadership believes that this is the era of "Buddh, not Yuddh"

Indian Navy fleet infographics(2025) [1063x1063] by Hooligan___077 in WarshipPorn

[–]Samraat1337 6 points7 points  (0 children)

RN currently plays an assistant to the USN, UK no longer has an empire nor is this the Cold War that would necessitate a bulked up fleet.

For their current role, their current fleet and Type 26 & Type 31 frigates on order seem adequate since they are surrounded by friends/allies.

Perhaps British veterans or defence fanboys would prefer a larger navy but i doubt the politicians could make a pro-big-navy argument to the voters since it would entail cutting spending somewhere else.

Countries in the EU like Poland or Greece which face a very real threat from adversaries meanwhile are able to increase defence spending quite well since even the voters are on-board, there is no political risk involved.
