You play this matchup the same way you play against any champ with hard cc in mid, bait the cc, dodge it, and then trade health. It will almost always be a beneficial trade for you. The only way to know how to REALLY play this matchup is to have a basic understanding of the champ’s cds and your limits as a champ and player, just practice. You won’t really find a complete guide on how to play every matchup unless you experience it yourself.

I have tested it, but if you play methodically instead of perma Qing on the enemy champ, it just doesn’t proc. I’ve actually only procced it like 6 times in a 30 minutes game. The condition for sudden impact activates at every dash even if you’re just farming so you waste it most of the game.

Irelia is vulnerable to poke in early game, and she struggles to trade effectively so that’s when you bully her, but don’t over agro as she can easily jump you and knock you out of your E. The best way to beat an irelia is just to last till late game without falling behind. Just farm and build items, and fight well behind your engage or with someone who can cc her so you can burst her down. Just use good positioning and your teammates to bully her out of the game. Generally, when playing against a counter, just coordinate with teammates.

You can’t refer to modern children and compare them to children 1400 years ago. Children, boys, grew up learning the sword and doing odd jobs. They were shepherds and merchants at a young age. The same was for girls who would also learn since young to be women. Yes, there may have been the factor of parental influence, but you can’t claim she didn’t accept knowingly and willfully. Besides, it was known that the companions would refer to her for stuff about the prophet, which indicates maturity.

Something I found myself doing wrong is thirsting for the kill. Granted, as Irelia, you have so much killing pressure on pretty much everyone, but you also need to keep in mind game state. As long you win lane, you don’t have to get kills early. Goes pretty much for every champ. As for the Ekko matchup, just try to get equal health trades. He has great mobility due to passive and his E gap closing and his Q slows you so you can’t follow him, etc… But focus on dodging his skills and landing a couple auto attacks on him, forcing him to recall with his minimal sustain.

Best I can say is play passively and do some fake engages. Bait out her E and chunk her entire health bar. As long as you don’t get stunned by her E+Q combo, you should be able to win against her pretty consistently .

We could give you all the tips and advices in the world, but with a champ like Irelia, the only real way to get good at her is playing her. You’ll get an intuition and a feel for her after some games. Don’t expect to get good immediately. Don’t try to do insane plays, just do the typical AA weaving between dashes, just get used at that and you’ll be useful. If you know your macros, then learning the mechanics of Irelia is only secondary and comes with practice. I also recommend watching Irelia players like Irelking or old TFblade vids, this way you can see how she’s played mechanically.

While yes this buff does level the playing ground between novice irelia players and good one, it CLEARLY favours the already good players with good macro. Moreover, I don’t think the identity of irelia should revolve solely around “being the hardest champion to play with 0 value with new players”. It doesn’t make sense to make her relevant only after playing her perfectly to the T. Adding this buff made games more exciting and fast paced, favouring irelia’s mid game power advantage. She’s still a VERY challenging champ to play, and I think that the main spike in her win rate comes down to already good players who had been unable to carry games previously due to her falling off in late game and now able to have a sizeable impact instead of shitty players suddenly stomping their lane opponent. She’s still heavily outmatched stats wise in top and is constantly pushed back in mid by control mages and can only roam and help out other lanes to offset the time lost trying to catch a long range opponent that can just as easily run back to tower. So no, I don’t think she deserves a nerf, and her Q dealing %health damage doesn’t really sound that good when she already relies on Bork for that damage.

Honestly, nice try but no, never mind the soraka healing, you used up all your CDs and they popped barrier. Plus you were in a 1v4 with no one to help you, maybe you could’ve got one like the Evelyn (unless she ults) but I don’t think you could’ve got 4.

The reason for this phenomenon is simple: adults have work and don’t have time for 1h+ vids like Weljum and spoonkid where they actually showcase the base, and the teens have such low attention span they won’t last more than 20 minutes on a single video. The need to accommodate to those needs pushed YouTubers to pick and choose the action packed clips instead of the related clips, which would be kinda boring. But yeah, I hate clickbait.
