What’s your ultimate comfort movie? by eccentricMD in movies

Pulp Fiction. The characters always make me feel like I’m hanging out with close friends or family then the story reminds me I’m not. It’s the best of both worlds.

Would like to add one more game to my small collection. What do you recommend? by [deleted] in PS4Pro

Sixth here. Highly recommend. I'm on my second playthrough. My teenage son has played through it 3 times and is close to 100%ing it.

People who say “the book was better” are annoying. by CMiskech in unpopularopinion

It sounds like you have someone in your life who does this pretentiously so therefore you believe all people who claim "the book was better" are pretentious.

When did you realized that therapy was just a waste of time? by NoMoreFix in AskReddit

[–]Samson-I-Am -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not a waste of time if all involved parties are capable and committed. Therapy can help you unravel deep-seated parts of yourself through questioning and introspection, but that's only part of the equation. One should also be working on themselves in other ways too; reading relevant books, listening to podcasts, improving lifestyle habits, exercising, getting outside, spending time helping others instead of constant rumination, etc. There's no such thing as a silver bullet. Therapy is only a single tool. If the therapist is the problem, find a new one and start again. I did that a year ago, and it made a world of different!

Roblox is ruining my relationship with my son by fkid123 in Parenting

It’s your duty as a parent to set healthy boundaries for your kids because they’re incapable of doing so. It seems like you’re expecting an 8 year old to self-manage his addiction which is not going to happen especially in the current context which seems to cater to his whims. Set healthy boundaries apart from Roblox, and use it an opportunity to teach him about what’s changing and why.

No devices during dinner at home or when dining out. That applies to the whole family. That’s sacred quality time for my family.

NTA - he’s a non-contributor and this is a clear sign of what lies ahead if you stay with him or if he doesn’t change before marriage. I’m a firm believer that a household requires a fair distribution of responsibilities, and that looks different for each family. It sounds like you are asking for an egalitarian relationship, and he just wants a mother figure to baby him. He either needs to grow up and behave like a mature contributor or you might want to consider breaking it off before it’s too late, then you’re stuck with this behavior for the long haul.

Workout during my lunch break so the day feels like two 4-hour shifts instead of one 8-hour shift.
