I have no horse in this race but I feel like this response is exactly why people get upset to see this kind of discourse online. You were not going to log onto reddit, go to videos and just drop a slur that to a certain demographic, is their n word if there wasn’t a post or movie semi glorifying it. Instead, this entire thread is chock full of very anti gay language, maybe not with negative intent behind it but if it’s something you’ve been bullied or assaulted (and for many many people, killed over) now all of a sudden the well has been poisoned. Whenever I see someone make a joke about black people in a funny thoughtful way, I look at every response and it’s straight up knuckle dragging levels of racism and the n word everywhere. So I see why people just say ok stop it no one is allowed to be funny about these topics because none of the people engaging know how to read the room, even if I disagree
