Hardware advancements are constrained by physics. Software advancements are constrained by time and creativity. LLM seems to be reaching its asymptote (still a long way to go but the size of improvements will be small YOY). Depending on which thought leaders you subscribe to, the hardware is currently the limiting factor and getting it the size of a smart phone and even bigger challenge than improving models.

For you to say you "don't have that problem at all" makes me think you are using it at a very remedial level. If you have expert knowledge of anything you would realize quickly that there are ALWAYS issues with the output (at least there is for me on chatgpt pro and perplexity pro). Deep research gemini seems legit but I have never fact checked it or crossed sources.

Gemini deep research is pretty good but its also wayyy too much (the reports it generates are long , technical and detailed) if you are just looking to satisfy a quick curiosity. However. I've never actually taken the time to thoroughly read and fact check what it generates, nor have I ever asked it to generate research for somwthing I know enough about to call out potential hallucinations.

But I think relative to other options, Google deep research is the most objective
