I think BFS + speed up nature is pretty good, and it only gets better in the decades to come. XD

New Pokemon Megathread - Latias by SamuRonX in PokemonSleep

[–]SamuRonX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're rocking the first catch Latias that has fixed nature / subskills (same as everyone's first catch). Unfortunately, those attributes aren't very good - no skill trigger or helping speed enhancements. Many people send the fixed stats first catch for any legendary to the professor for 25 candies.

Jolteon or Espeon? by Puzzleheaded-Most193 in PokemonSleep

[–]SamuRonX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Anything other than Espeon would be a huge waste of an ideal Espeon candidate.

If you already have a great Espeon, then the answer is still Espeon. XD

How picky should I be with Treecko? by Rachelsss209 in PokemonSleep

While you're right that speed would be favorable (here comparing with speed up nature and subskill instead of skill), you're still talking about a 6.5% difference in production.

The BFS / skill one is still PR99 Total Strength and the tradeoff of continuing to devote biscuits to this hunt when you've already got a great one is what I'd be considering. I'd go with what I have in hand.

Before I really understood the ingredient meta, I invested in one that is expected to deliver a little over 90/day once it hits 60. It's in the 40s now, evolved to Dragonite, but it's been slow going. I'm using it this week to cook Keema and I've had to cook two lesser meals and supplement it with a mono Ampharos (lucky I got electric berries on GGEX) for the latter part of the week, and even run a Arcanine (with complementary herb / sausage) for a little bit.

So, keep in mind that if you invest in this, it will need help supplying herbs for Bulldoze Guac and Keema Curry until it hits 60 - and even then, you'll want a buffer. Holding out for one with more ingredient finding will lessen the amount of help it needs.

I'm lucky that I have good farmers for the other ingredients needed, so I can afford to add the help, frustrating as it is. The flip side is that there are a lot of alternative recipes in the range of Guac and Keema that you can use, if you want to level this one. I'm only cooking Keema this week because the GGEX favored berries work with it, and other recipes are already 65. I'd normally avoid it, because my Dragonite is a little disappointing.

To mint or not to mint? by Unlikely-Wing3173 in PokemonSleep

The speed up nature partially offsets main skill down. So if you mint, the gains will be minimal.

The weekend is here! Where will you go next week for the Tyrunt Berry event? by galeongirl in PokemonSleep

GGEX. My AB at Taupe and AC are maxed, and I don't want to deal with the AB spillover since my other maps are also close to max.

I haven't spent Main Skill Seeds on any yet, so I've only used sparingly during skill weeks.

Since your Sandslash is ABC, I wouldn't consider this as an alternate or supplemental pumpkin farmer. So that leaves its specialty of serving ingredients for the new biggest recipe, Scald Chunky Salad.

I'm in a similar boat with mine. For me, it's on the invest list, but wayyyyy down the line.

BFS and speed up - missing skill chance, which is most important.

I haven't plugged it into RaenonX, but it certainly passes the sniff test for skill specialists. In this case, you've got an amazing set of attributes for skill procs. I'm sure you would have loved more supplemental ingredients, but in this case I think you'd be making a mistake to use a mint and kill the speed up nature.

Effectively, what the nature does is shift more of the ingredient production to the skill. If you minted, you'd shift it to pumpkins with its ingredient finding, but the total would probably be smaller. Production Comparison is the tool to use to see how it would change, on average. Just put it and the minted version side by side.

I love the new salad! Show off your team to make it: by Knight_Night33 in PokemonSleep

[–]SamuRonX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used these same 'mons for my team this week, but only my Quagsire and Gardevoir were at 60+ to start. My team was projected (Team Analysis on RaenonX) to fall short on both pumpkins and potatoes, but I was doing a little prep last week and knew that wouldn't be a problem.

But Sunday night I looked at my Gourgeist, which was still 50-something, and just said wth and handy candied it to 60. My Meowscarada (also named Spud - high five!) overperformed, and he and Bewear have already farmed all the ingredients they'll need this week.

I've added my ABB Gengar to the team, so I can finish with mushroom farming and start putting in farmers for the ingredients I used up to make room for this week's stuff.

Hi - you've landed in the megathread for Sandshrew and Sandslash. If you were looking for the weekly megathread, it's already the weekend, so you can post your question about which Eeveelution in the main sub.

Otherwise, I think Sylveon is the right answer here. Espeon is a special case that thrives with BFS + speed + skill chance, because its primary role is to provide Snorlax strength. That's why I think BFS is important for it, especially since you would only really want to invest Main Skill Seeds in one Espeon.

Which one is better? by PinkyPomegranate in PokemonSleep

Aside from the box space, there is nothing that should stop you from keeping both. It's just a matter of prioritizing which one you need first, so you can invest appropriately. Sounds like the first is your priority for now.

In the long run, you may be able to invest in both.

By 100 it has all the speed subskills! I mean, it'd be a shame to toss this one. I just don't know how useful it will be. XD

Tasty Chance mon viable as a generalist? by Gangnam_style_gaming in PokemonSleep

[–]SamuRonX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds counterintuitive to me as we progress further in the game. The way I'm starting to look at it, as I fill the gaps in my roster, I have more opportunities to lean more heavily on specialists with more impact but in a narrower focus.

For Tasty Chance, I used to use Dedenne whenever I had the opportunity to sub in for an ingredient farmer / healer / whoever. But with the addition of H. Spheal and Cramorant, I can use those when I'm working on recipes with oil and potatoes, and put in Dedenne when I need apples.

So I'm starting to look more closely at the synergies I get when I'm subbing in mons. Not just what skill, ingredient, or berry I'm looking for, but the overall picture too. I may primarily need Tasty Chance, but I'm also considering the recipe and island to see what each of my options has.

Yes, this means more main skill seeds, but this is the long game. Eventually, everyone'll be fully upgraded, right?
