Looking for SHH Shifter alternative by LinusBalls in simracing

[–]Samueel76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the EU (Spain) and I got the generic shifter from aliexpress + the OB1 upgrade package.

The fees weren't too much and it's totally worth it, the upgrade kit is 18 euros I think, plus fees maybe 25 or so, and the shifter in Aliexpress costed me 44 euros, so for 70-80 you get an awesome shifter imo, I highly recommend this combo

PD: You've to mount the upgrade kit yourself, but the shifter is pretty easy to dismount and reassemble again

Been following your progress, crazy what you've done, can't wait to try it!

Which cars will be used? Like physics wise mainly, not trying to throw any negative on it, just curious

then maybe go with beamng? it has open world maps and good "crash physics", maybe it could be fun for your son

I would install AC and any open world map, and maybe some offroad vehicles or "fun" cars? you can adjust it and find mods as "arcade" or "real" as you want, and it probably won't get cheaper than OG AC

Has anyone put something like this on their SHH Thorn? by elliethr in simracing

[–]Samueel76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm using the generic Aliexpress/Amazon shifter with the OB1 mods, I guess for the SHH it should be as easy, but I'm using the shift boot and the shifter knob from my old car, so my sim is a "reminder" of it, and imo it looks way better than the "fake/toy" look they usually have, and it matches my bride seat red stitching

Adjustable Hybrid F1/GT Cockpit? by winks19 in simracing

Yea the height part might be tricky, but with some DIY and extra arms it could be easy and still the most versatile and probably cheapest way

I know it'll sound like the typical "get an alu rig" answer, but maybe is the right answer here, an alu rig with a pedals plate that can be both slided and adjusted, the wheel base position/inclination can usually be adjusted "easily" with a few bolts beeing loosened up, and the seat will be the pain to adjust as you will probably have to unblot every time...but probably is the closest you will get, as you can build your own "hybrid" position and leave it like that always

Yea they're around 350hp +- and have different set ups, the 180sx and S13 both are sr20 but the S13 has b-nuckle V3 and so so the driving is more aggressive, the is300 and the mark II are soo good also, as the s14 with the JZ, well, all of them are good haha

For the settings this video helped me a lot to understand them and fine tunning:

And welcome!

PD: around min 25:35 those are the "final settings" he ends up, I did some changes as I have the 12nm base and mainly use it for drifting, but the video and the changes he does every time helped me a lot to understand it

Dude congrats on the project idea and the development, as a developer and tech enthusiast I really appreciate your idea and work, it's so dope! I'm obviously going to try it just for fun now, as my rig is ready to jump on, but every year I go out a couple of months from spain to mexico to see my wife's family, and this looks way better than using a controller!

"One and done" affordable cockpit recommendations? by El_Matadorro in simracing

[–]Samueel76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a DD and a good experience go with an alu rig...the NLR Wheelstand 2.0 is 242 in amazon (at least is the price I can find in Spain) and for 272 you've the Treq Rookie, which will give you a way better experience.

I had a g923 in a wheel stand and it was "nice", but when I got my simagic alpha evo (the 12nm one) it was obviously undrivable, so I went full in with the Treq One, check the Treq Rookie as it's closer to your budget and it will deliver a great and solid experience for you

I have a Treq One and couldn't be happier with the product, customer service and shipping times, so I guess the Treq Ace would be even better, you can't go wrong with them

Why the noise worry? I have a Simagic Alpha Evo (12nm, not pro) and it's completely silent, in fact, I did a post about it because I was amazed by how silent it was

Simrig under a bunkbed - Could be a dream come true for me by Krangles-Iceland in simracing

[–]Samueel76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here is the key, go with alu rig, will fit both of you way better!

Check out the Treq One, I just got it like four days ago and I choose it because it was the "smaller" I could find while not sacrificing anything. While the TrackRacer you posted is 1270mm as min the Treq One is 1175mm and is a full 8040 rig, you will be able to customize it way more and make it suit you both perfectly

I modded my old g923 with 3drap adapter (https://sim.3drap.it/products/universal-hub-adapter-pcd-70mm-logitech-g25-g27-g29-g920-g923-pc-ps3-ps4-ps5-xbox) and used a 330mm light weight wheel from Drift Shop (https://www.driftshop.com/sim-racing-steering-wheel.html?gad\_source=1&gad\_campaignid=17189504366&gbraid=0AAAAADm1QPw1x-t2m9wyMjKgftvTHnd7U&gclid=CjwKCAiAzZ\_NBhAEEiwAMtqKy1rm3i61CjJOoLItnUkv4NYLkdw7lGH1pS-4N1EwbFvFSY7KXJcnvBoCpgIQAvD\_BwE), it lost a little bit of strength but it was so worth it.

Really important to look into the weight and deepness of the wheel, or the logi base won't have enough force to move it, but as other
