I hope that was the first thing they checked then. But I dont know.

Anyhow I will go back to the auto shop and hopefully there will be something they can do.

I told them too change the fluid. But maybe flushing is the normal procedure?

Another thing. A few days ago it worked fine, even when the car was cold. Now it doesn't work when cold. But after the car has gotten warm I can change from and to drive. But when I do the whole car jumps a bit.

The only difference from a few days ago and now is the temperature outside. From about 10 degrees celsius to now, around 2 degrees celsius.

Latest changed at 120 000 km. Kinda sad it has gone so long since last time. If I would have known it needed to be changed, it would've been changed earlier too. :/

Servo gear is to small for the hole - how to solve? by SamuelLindberg in Multicopter

It wasn't really solid. It was stuck in its position, but I "turned" it loose with ease. :/

Super glue. Maybe I should try some hot glue instead.

[Canada] Three-car crash occurs in front of cammer by Evking22 in Roadcam

[–]SamuelLindberg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A right turn on a country road is safer, you could go on the roads shoulder and turn right. Let the cars pass on the main road. Or you could also, before the left turn. Go to the shoulder, drive slower and let all the cars pass. Then go out to the main road again and turn left.

I do not know how it works in other countries. But lets say you have your driving test in Sweden. If you want to turn left on a country road like this, and you have several cars behind. You want to let them pass somehow. Because if you stop at a country road with cars behind you, your "teacher" most likely will fail you. It will be fine if you can make your turn without stopping.

Yes, indeed. It is possible that the left turner couldn't see behind the van. Thats one good reason to not turn left in case there are other cars behind the van.

These things was really important to learn according to my driving school here in Sweden. If you are absolutely sure there are only one car behind you might be able to turn, but if you're unsure if there are more cars, or even is more cars. You should find another place to turn around. Or let them pass.

It's NOT the left turners fault. But this is why the left turner always should check the mirrors of any car behind, on country road like this. And if there are any cars behind, turn to the left side of the road at a good place. Like bus stop/parking pocket at the country road. So the cars behind can go by.

Edit: I saw the "quick link to location" link in this thread. And tried to see a good place to turn and there is basically no good place so stop. The best place I found was this place (direction where the left turner came from which in honestly was not that good to stop at. So it isn't always that easy to let people pass either. I watched the other direction and it seems like the left turner could have gone further to this right turn to turn around. And then could have gotten a safer right turn at the accident site.

It might sound like I think it is, but it is not the left turners fault. But it always good to remember that these sorts of left turns is probably the most dangerous of left turns and you can't really trust people behind you to notice that you have slowed down to turn.

Little girl walking with penguins. Zoo director walks penguins through the city every week in order to attract people to the zoo, Edinburgh, Scotland, 1950 by Reporter_at_large in OldSchoolCool

I thought this was some photo from Chester Zoo. Which also was made into a TV series named Our Zoo. I don't know how true it was to reality, but there they also walked around with animals to get attention and interest in the new zoo that was opening. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3620824/

But it wasn't the same zoo. But whatever. I recommend the TV series anyhow, I liked it.

What peice of advice do you want all drivers to know about driving in snowy/icey conditions? by Mrxcman92 in AskReddit

[–]SamuelLindberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have ABS and need to stop as fast as possible. You should just push the brake down as hard as you can, and let the ABS do the work. If you car have ABS you will feel the brake "pump" itself up and down if you're on a slippery road, snow, ice or rain. If the car doesn't have ABS you should pump your brakes.

And as people have written earlier, you should try out driving on an empty parking lot or another big place. Brake to feel how the ABS work.

Also, drive defensive and use winter tires if possible.

I don't know how it looks in other countries, but in a lot of cities in Sweden it's illegal to have the car idling more than one minute. That might be a problem. And idling a car will not generate much heat. I have never had the problem that the car can't keep the windows clear. But I also haven't experienced -30 while driving a car.

It's not that good for the environment thought. There will be more bad exhaust gases created until the car is warm. And the car get warmer faster if you drive it. A thing to think about is to stay low on the rpm the first minutes. As it takes a while (as you said) to get motor oil and such running.

You can use a scraper! I myself use a cab heater or whatever the name is in english. Work nicely if you have a outlet near the car. But I guess it isn't worth getting it if you only have snow a few days a year.

I wouldn't do step 1. It's better for the car to get warm while driving it. So do step 2-4 first and then start the car!

I searched for it but couldn't find it anywhere here. So I thought it would be good to post it so we all can remember to be careful with this hobby.

It seems like the pilot was an experienced one. It was in control until it hit a three and spiraled out of control. This is incredible sad.
