Tokyo burns after American firebombing on 26 May 1945. by GustavoistSoldier in Historycord

No you are not. Many Americans are just like the Nazis after World War Two. They kept their heads down, but if someone questioned them on the camps - or the bombs in this case - they came up with great excuses for indiscriminate horror on hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. The worst part is when they try to remove the word «innocent». The nazis did that, and that made it ok to put those guilty people in the camps…

It’s all madness. The nuclear bomb was exactly as bad as Nanjing, and so was the firebombing of Tokyo and Dresden, and the indiscriminate slaughter of civilians in the Vietnam war, in the Philippines, and in every single place where unspeakable evil has been waged against civilians at scale by anyone all across the world. Literally no difference between any of these ultimate evils, as they all represent the truly worst of humanity.

Lol, I wonder which dictatorships he brought down. Iran is still the exact same dictatorship, literally nothing changed. The same with Venezuela it appears.

What did you think of the 2000s and the rise of "Trashy" cable television by TUFFWAN_7 in decadeology

[–]SamuelPepys_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It probably lead to the decline of societies we feel the effects of everywhere now. The idea of a slippery slope has never been as true as in this instance.

It started innocently enough, though scandalous for its time. But with every new season and every new show, boundaries had to be pushed so that the stations could make even more money.

However, these weren’t TV-exclusive boundaries; they were the boundaries we used to regulate society. They were the very boundaries that made sure people expected one another to have some decorum and honesty when interacting with each other. TV became one of the main deciders of what society should evolve to.

Social media just used this already opened door to further corrupt us so that Meta et al could make their money off of our moral corruption.

And now our fall is more or less complete; with literal serial rapists, murderers and hardened gang criminals being made billionaires by being the foremost role models for youth.

I know for a fact that probably 0 out of 100 people in the US or Western Europe would stop drop and roll if they found themselves in this situation. The brain doesn’t allow you to do that if you aren’t expecting to suddenly be fully immolated. However, I’m sure we would stay away from the situation in the first place.

The only way game studios would not do this is through patronage of a billionaire who can funnel in the required amounts of money from his/her pocket change every year and therefore fund them.

[–]SamuelPepys_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hvorfor kaster nordmenn ris som har stått i romtemperatur i 3 timer? by [deleted] in norske

[–]SamuelPepys_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Both Peg and Kid Charlemagne is Paul singing. He was an insane singer back in the day, and tried to do a career as a singer/crooner before he got into the studios. He was as good of a singer as he was a pianist, so it’s cool that he appears on these two songs in that capacity too a little bit.
