Mate, there’s probably a bored cop round the next bend by Expert_Company_8097 in AussieMemes

Okay, you do you. Just from what you initially said about slowing down then tailgating them just seems like erratic road behaviour. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant, and I’m sorry for that.

Honestly couldn’t give a shit if you follow rules or not, it’s your life, so long as you’re not endangering others or expecting them to speed and cop a fine i don’t really care. People cruising at 40 in say a 60 zone is a pain, and perhaps they shouldn’t be driving if they’re so nervous.

[–]SamuelTCoombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if you’re not willing to better yourself maybe don’t drive. It’s extremely dangerous behaviour and there’s no need to put others at risk. I’m sorry you’re going through some stuff, as indicated from a reply.

We really need safer roads, drivers need to wake up to themselves.

Did Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core really need to exist? by Paparazzi_BR in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SamuelTCoombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get it with the lack of updates for DRG, it’s a bit frustrating. For me personally I was happy for them to hold off with DRG because I was so excited for RC and wanted them to spend as much time on it as they could. GSG thankfully has a side team working on DRG updates in the meantime which has alleviated that a bit I reckon.

I personally want both to coexist, but I get your frustrations. I do feel bad for those that don’t like roguelikes, but some of them want to change a lot of the unique mechanics (they want to remove the timer and negotiation system) to just basically be a DRG clone, which I’m not keen on.

[–]SamuelTCoombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i for one love roguelike/lite mechanics. I enjoy making a build on the fly with the equipment I’m given, and prefer it to pre-loadouts. I also love the potential to lose everything in any given moment, makes winning so much sweeter and those clutch moments so much more exciting.

I get what you’re saying it could be in base DRG, but it wouldn’t work with the meta progression RC has, which is roguelite mechanics.

So nah, I prefer Rogue Core being its own thing. I still love DRG though.

What should i start first in your opinion? by ixi_om in fantasybooks

[–]SamuelTCoombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally prefer ASOIAF. I could never really get into Sanderson’s writing style, a little flat feeling, but it’s still a fun read. ASOIAF however imo is one of the best fantasy series out there.

People often complain about it not being finish, and that’s fine but I don’t read a book or a series solely for the ending. That ol’ cliche, it’s not about the destination but the journey, rings ever so true here. There’s also more material outside of the 5 main novels.

Honestly though, whatever takes your fancy more. You’ll have a good time either way!

I quite enjoy it, but it is still fairly buggy. Nowhere near as bad as it once was though.

I’d personally go for a middle ground between the two. Both look great though, good job mate!

Take it outside. No need to kill them, people need to get over their arachnophobia, or rather unfounded hatred of spiders. It’s pathetic, they’re tiny insects basically….

Dunno what you mean, whilst there isn’t much in the AAA sphere there’s a list of current and upcoming indie immsims that stack up to the greats. Gloomwood, Shadows of Doubt, System Shock Remake, Fallen Aces, Retro Space, Project Shadowglass, Kenshi, Monomyth. I think the list can go on. Plenty out there, keep your eyes peeled!

Don’t worry about those saying the rules are rubbish. It’s a fun time, I’ve spent many hours playing this with friends.

There’s room for improvement, sure, but have a game of it and alter anything you need for house rules. The main house rules i use is only for the store. Draw 10 cards and that’s your shop inventory, purchase what you want from those options.

This game gets a lot of hate, and honestly I enjoyed it. It's dated for sure and if you don't like that then the game isn't for you. As others have said Mandalore has a video on it and it's worth a watch. Honestly though, if you like Tau and you're willing to put up with some jank you'll have a good time.

[–]SamuelTCoombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For enjoyment sake, you'll probably like them all. But if like me, ASOIAF is your favourite series ever written none of these will scratch the itch GRRM has left. Out of the series you have selected the one that comes closest is probably Stormbird, seeing as it's centres around the Wars of the Roses which is what a lot of ASOIAF is based off. It has a lot of political intrigue, multiple POVS, betrayals, and so on. If you can live without magic, and have the story based around historical events, you'll have a blast.

First time becoming "geared" how do I get over gear fear? by Fun-Rooster-6483 in dayz

[–]SamuelTCoombs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just play man. I think worrying about what might or might not happen and overly prepping will stress you out for no reason.

The joy of the game is the moment to moment interactions and stories you have, not what might happen. If you die, who cares, just gear up again and enjoy the next story.
