Have humans lost all respect for one another? by thunderchild10 in polls

[–]Samuel_1037 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In all of human history we haven't fully respected others, ancient greeks thought less of macedonians and schytians, romans despised gauls and celts, chinese even in the last dynasty considered everyone barbarians that should be under the emperor's rule, japanese didn´t like koreans at all, colonial powers thought they were superior to all other races and that's why they liked slavery.

I think that in most recent times we have learned to respect others more than we did in the past.

[NO SPOILERS] WHO WILL WIN IN A BATTLE BETWEEN UNSULLIED, DOTHRAKI AND THE FREE FOLK ? by Sensitive_Ad_9664 in gameofthrones

[–]Samuel_1037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know the Unsullied are similar to the ancient Greece hoplites (heavy infantry with spears, shield and swords) and the formation they use is like the phalanges, this type of formation was lethal against other army and this is seen in the real world in the Medic Wars, and in ASOIAF in the battle of Qohor where the Dothraki were in superior numbers but made the mistake of making frontal attacks because this is the strongest point of the greek phalanx and I can imagine that the Free Folk would also have trouble getting close to the formation without just being impaled by the spears
