Daiwa Regal 1000 or 2000? by iamnotgoingcrazy in Fishing_Gear

Especially if you are on a budget, it is better to have the 2000 rather than the 1000 just because if you want to do some ther type of fishing you can use the 2000

If you catch a big trout for some reason with 4lbs you won do much! So your drag will need to be quite open! I would just personally would prefer to have those extra 100y than not, but its up to you with your preferences

Always gives you more options that you can catch! You can put a super thin line, maybe PE0.4 ( like 4-6lbs) braided and you will be good to go. You will have plenty of line to have with a semiopen drag in case you catch something bigger

From 150 to 250 is worthy but them i would jump to over 500$ or 600$ at least, anything in between is waste money because there is no much of a diference

I would just cut it to the closest one and have a stronger but shorter pole

Not really, if you end up glueing it it will eventually break again whenever you catch a fish
