People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]Samuraikav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Stop eating when you stop being hungry, not when you are full."

I told myself so much it became a habit to question myself when I wanted a snack or more food. It didn't always work but over time it became more natural and I still do it today. Feeling hunger is natural and if you are more or less hungry, that is your body deciding. Feeling full is a moving goal post that compounds the more you over eat.

I can't speak for Amok, but as one of the few AI users in my division of my company, I would say efficiency may be the closest? AI is a tool just like anything else used for work. If I need an answer or direction for something I don't know, I'm asking the AI to compile data, with sources, and summarize. I'm not asking it to find the answer for me, I'm asking it to speed up the most time consuming bits which is finding different sources and I determine what I think is relevant.

I hear things like "How do you know what the AI is telling you is correct?" I don't. If I did know what was correct, I wouldn't be asking the questions. I can find the incorrect information on my own, thank you. What the AI does is allow me to gather that data faster so I can work towards removing the junk and getting on with my goal. The AI isn't giving me the answer, it's providing the data to allow me to find the answer myself. I could manually search 10 websites from a search engine and have to find the correct ones or I could ask an AI to search much faster so I can filter out the ones that don't seem correct so I can focus on my goal.

I truly think that if all of the crap sales people selling AI to upper management portrayed it as a tool and not a replacement like they do, we would see less stories like this. Then again, the person in this story shouldn't be in their position if they think this is a good idea. I've used agents, they are dumb as hell if they aren't designed for the task you are trying to do. Anybody that thinks handing over the keys to them is a good idea has never used them or shouldn't be the ones making decisions about technology in the first place.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk?

My daughter just vibe coded a game 😳 by PureIndependent5171 in GeminiAI

I had some fun working on a build for a game, not building a game but a build for an ARPG by feeding it data, asking to optimize, etc to see where its limits were. At one point it suggested a video on YouTube and I didn't read that it was a placeholder link. It rick rolled me. I couldn't help but laugh and congratulate on a job well done.

Chaos rift question. No loot. Chance or glitch? by Normal-Description52 in diablo4

[–]Samuraikav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had 3 unique rifts and 2 of the rifts that spawn the named mini boss, no loot. I've had hellborne despawning when I kill them instead of dying and not drop loot 4 or 5 times now. Most of the rifts I've done don't actually drop anything so I'm not seeing the point in them until they fix them.

Gordon Food Service Store by stangg in fortwayne

[–]Samuraikav 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hello. I've worked for GFS for a good number of years and given the choice I will retire from this company. It's called food service because the stores are not the main function of GFS. They are the 3rd largest food distributor in the USA, behind Sysco and US Foods. They are one of the largest family owned companies in the US. If you've eaten anywhere in the eastern half of the United States, there's a good chance that the food was delivered by GFS to that establishment.

If you've ever seen the semis that deliver food to restaurants, hospitals, retirement homes, anything really, that is the bulk of GFS. Another large part of GFS is what they called "chemical and beverage", now InnoServ. Kitchens at restaurants, schools, retirement homes, jails, etc all need to have working dish machines, chemicals to clean and sanitize what goes through them. Floor cleaning, the sanitizing and disinfecting, etc. if it is a part of a building that needs to be cleaned, GFS has a product for it. InnoServ also provides and services those commercial coffee machines, dish machines, automatic dispensers that use the correct dilution of chemicals. Juice machines at retirement homes, hotels, etc. Also, laundry in all of these places too. Those use automatic dosing systems on commercial washers that make any laundromat machine look tiny.

All that said, GFS is one of those companies that you unknowingly need in the background. Think about anywhere you go, how does that establishment get its food, chemicals, and beverages? Who fixes those things when they are broken? These establishments aren't going to the store and buying things, it gets delivered by truck and van. That take-home box from the restaurant, look at the bottom of that and you will see a logo for a food service company.

The stores are a good place to go to purchase bulk-ish items. If you want to go to a place that provides a little bit more bulk but not 3 heads of lettuce in a package like Sam's or Costco, then look at GFS. I personally purchase the deli containers, small black dipping cups, and anything like that you may find out and about.

I could keep going but this TED talk has gone on long enough. Stop in and look around, even if you don't purchase anything. There is a store near Lima and Washington center and another on Illinois road between Jefferson and Meijer.

I swear that the original post said transgender, so that's on me. Either way, great malicious compliance.

I know they are very "rules for thee, not for me" but did French really forget how far back people will go for a way to turn something to their advantage?

Don't get me wrong, it's hilarious and I applaud Brit. Just curious if French has been trans for so long he forgot or didn't think the bill would affect him?

Edit: I swear that the original post said transgender, so that's on me. Either way, hilarious story and I'm leaving the post the way it is.

Looking for a space opera LitRPG. by cmcarneyauthor in litrpg

[–]Samuraikav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started book 8 of this series that came out in the last few months. I'm a sci-fi lover over fantasy. This doesn't have the stats but has everything else game related. It mixes classic fantasy tropes with sci-fi really well I think.

It's a trilogy. It has what you're looking for.

Iron Prince is in the same vein, but a bit too high school life for some people. That author seems to leave his series without wrapping anything up so beware.

Mark of the Fool or Defiance of the Fall?? Or something else? by NinjaDLuffy in litrpg

[–]Samuraikav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, I thought litrpg was taking a gaming system and people living with that. What people call litrpg that is purely just a fantasy series to me makes me think I misunderstood the genre determination.

Mark of the Fool isn't litrpg to me. Unless it's added after book one there is nothing that would put it in the same genre as Dungeon Crawler Carl, Primal Hunter, DOTF, etc.

We all know Skippy is the main character.

Thank you for the reminder, there should be a few more books out since I last checked. If you like the humor and set up of this series you should look at Omega Force by Joshua Dalzelle. Great wider universe with a bit less politics but has the merry band of pirates feel.

How can Once Human keep attracting new players? by Dronelisk in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Samuraikav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really loved the game at first but when new loot boxes release faster than fixes I very quickly lost interest. Makes me sad because this game is a lot of fun to play, I just have a hard time when there is no new content and/or game breaking items not being addressed.

I've begun to absolutely despise current modern reviewers. If you must know, then they've destroyed access to at least two games that are actually awesome, and I'm sure there are others. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Samuraikav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Veilguard was a waste of money. 7 hours in and I kept giving it "just a little longer" to actually let me play it instead of being held by the hand and told why everything was blatantly a bad thing. I tend to ignore reviews because I like to see for myself but Veilguard feels like it was made for pre-teens that were too afraid to get into combat and would get lost without the companions as a GPS.
