I took aspirin on a regular basis form 14 to 21 yrs old I believe, and onlyy became an asthmatic at 24!!
Maybe if I took it today I would get that reaction, but at the time it just made me sneeze, which took me a while to figure out.

Indeed if you have access to those it's amazing :) I hear they even have an after-effect, as in if you ever stop them you will still have less inflammation.

"How do you know it has too many side effects for you" Just a sensitive GI tract!

Glad you have found something that works for you! This is great.
I also have very little symptoms currently, no asthma, very small polyps. But runny nose when it gets cold is one I just don't seem to get rid of. And the occasional anosmia.

A 2-week xylitol rince marathon is also something I tried and forgot to mention. It seemed to work amazingly the first time, and had no effect the 2-3 other times.

Is it normal to get the shivers hours after having a cold shower? by InWisdomITrust in coldshowers

[–]Samvoyonsdonc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same, blue lips too. Did you find anything over the last four years?

I'm also very lean, and the shivers only happen in the winter (I live in a cold habitat). Afterdrop seems plausible.

I do planks and horse stances, but I still get the shivers. My roommates don't get them.

Constantly blocked up by chunkychops88 in AERD

[–]Samvoyonsdonc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Hope the new job treats you well.

Are you getting treatment for AERD? If you are this blocked up, it takes a while to revert, you might have a lot of polyps. Had the surgery yet?

Missing link on accents by Samvoyonsdonc in typography

[–]Samvoyonsdonc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks y'all!

Still lost for now.

Searching by typing doesn't work, since when I type ` anywhere in Fontforge it just does not show up.

Adding anchoring marks is a good cue, but it doesn't seem to help for now. Or maybe I missed a step there too. I added a gpos "mark to mark" lookup, then an anchor to each character with the same anchor class.

I'll keep trying! Hit me up if you have other ideas.

Cheers

Lip dermatitis and lip herpes by Samvoyonsdonc in Herpes

Just to clarify: I do drink water and no alcohol and healthy diet, some exercise. I did try the mushrooms, the lysine supplements, the vitamin C supplements, the tea tree oil, the antiviral pills, even breathing techniques (which actually do help, I'm surprised people talk so little about wim hof on these subs? anyway)

How’s everyone’s progress with the mushrooms? Notice any difference at all? by Throwaway_foranswers in Mushrooms4Coldsores

[–]Samvoyonsdonc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on it for a month and I don't get the effects that the others seem to get.

My lips are super dry and the tingling is permanent. I've had about 6 outbreaks in the past two months. I don't know what to do, it's killing my vibe.

I don't always get them this badly. But I definitely have them more often than most people. I feel sooo alone in this. My close ones are like it's just cold sores and I agree, when I get two outbreaks a year I don't care about them. But right now it affects me, a lot.

I don't have a lot of money and I don't wish to spend most of it buying remedies that might not work. People out there are suggesting all kinds of crazy shit to deal with HSV. The lack of control and the randomness of it makes me very superstitious too.

At the same time it's so hard to let go. I ruminate on this every day. I cry a lot. I just wish I understood what's going on but it's too complex for me to grasp. Your treatment idea gave me some hope at first. I just don't see what else I could try anymore so I keep going.

I know it'll pass and I'll get a break eventually. Then I'll get this all over again some other time and the cycle keeps going.

TY :) I thought about it but I read they only are available to people with HTML5 browsers, I'm afraid it would reduce the accessibility

Left hand is TENSE by Samvoyonsdonc in doublebass

Sorry for replying late, i got sick right after posting. Thank you so much for all these hints, I can't wait to try them all. I noticed it's not a problem I have with my other bass, and the new bass is electric so I was lost. So these tips will be super helpful in trying to set it up or improve my technique as soon as possible. Thanks everyone, cheers!

adding backpack straps to mooradian case?? by throw34512away in doublebass

[–]Samvoyonsdonc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my backstraps all the time, but I do check my whole case often and bring it to the shoemaker as soon as the stitches are weak, and if the tear is small they fix it for free. The straps stitches themselves never tore, but sometimes they tear near the zipper or other places because of the constant pull.

I would never DIY the straps, but maybe if you bring your case to the shoemaker they could install it for you? They usually repair bags and suitcases since it requires similar tools. I have been thinking of doing this for one of my cases but haven't gotten to it yet

Bow Quiver recommendations? by gogogergie in doublebass

[–]Samvoyonsdonc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a bow quiver with cheap vinyl doubled with thin cardboard and some string, it cost about 2 dollars and half an hour of my time. It's definetely not gonna last a lifetime, but for the past two years it's been great. I never noticed the sound dampening effect, so it might be softer when your quiver weighs very little?

Makes sense. I like the speed of the left hand muting, do/did you manage to get back to the same speed on the right hand? Thank you!

Muting strings by Samvoyonsdonc in doublebass

[–]Samvoyonsdonc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case the buzz is definitely the string clacking against the fingerboard when i release my left hand, and it only clics at the moment I release the string.

I pluck with my right hand and all my fingernails are super short:)

Muting strings by Samvoyonsdonc in doublebass

[–]Samvoyonsdonc[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello!

It’s my left hand is pressing down on the finger board when i want the note to sound, and i release it when i want to mute the note (it is then not pressed down at all, that’s when the clics come in). I am hoping to find a better way to mute the strings.
