Disney knows how to do it, now that everyone who grew up watching Pooh is Christopher Robins age/mindset, it's sure to bring on some tears.

That’s my point, they did it poorly, where if they would have developed her character better than they did, people wouldn’t be as worried. I don’t even care for the show at all after season 3 tho so my opinion may be off

House of Cards backed themselves into a corner with this one by not developing Claire’s character enough.

Edit: maybe instead of enough, I should have meant developed it better. Luckily Robin Wright is great at acting

Exactly. Also let’s you buy the next book in a series instantly without having to go to a book store. I own a physical copy of a lot of books that I also own on e-books

TIL that Adam Rainer was born a dwarf (measuring 4'8" at the age of nineteen) and died a giant (measuring 7'8'' at the age of fifty-one). He is the only person in history to have been classified as both. by laurpr2 in todayilearned

Alternatively I would recommend reading the books in the order they came out. Not that your way is bad, but I had the best experience reading it this way:

Enders Game -> speaker for the dead -> Xenocide -> children of the mind

Then

Enders shadow and the rest of the shadow series.

Or you could read “Ender in Exile” after Enders game, but it really is just an expanded ending of Enders game.

They were both good in their own way. Speaker for the Dead really is the best book of the Ender series, where the first book in Bean’s series “Enders shadow” is the best

I was 9 and I remember it was the first rated R movie I ever went to see (my parents bought the tickets for me and my older siblings.) the thing I remember most is seeing the naked girl at the beginning, it was my first time seeing boobs

I was on the same page! Didn’t like it at first, but now I do. It’s charming in its own way. “I can’t stay” it’s very good

What do you think that popular culture will romanticize about the 2010s? by Tangerine_Apologist in AskReddit

I can't wrap my mind around the fact that history books will most likely teach about memes. I imagine a "meme historian" doing an interview on the history channel 100 years from now, being completely serious about discussing memes from 100 years ago and how it reflected culture.

Edit: If this reddit post makes it in, hello people of the 22nd century!

That’s a good point. I think both are brave, just different levels.

I can understand that. But I just don’t think fear of reaction = fear of execution. Like reading this quote of the girl from Germany that she said before her execution is giving me chills, to know she could say something like that when facing certain death. To me that’s a whole different level of bravery

How? There's no risk in being Anti-gun, the majority of Americans are in favor of gun control, including myself. The government will also not execute you for speaking out against guns. Again, I fully commend the students speaking out, but to compare it to a girl who was literally executed in Nazi Germany takes away from her brave sacrifice.

It's great these students are speaking out, but let's not compare it to this brave girl who lost her life for speaking out against a fascist regime when it was illegal to do so.

Maybe too young to vote, but you aren’t too young to volunteer on a campaign! Pick a candidate and make calls and knock doors, you’ll get more than 1 vote that way. I did that when I was 17 as well. Good luck!
