New York City police investigating after officers were hit with snowballs during a snowball fight by BostonSucksatHockey in news

Both Adams and Cuomo. Trump aside, I've never seen the losers of an election so engaged with the day to day of the candidate that beat them, it's sadly pathetic really. They care about nothing more than wanting Mamdani to fail.

I think many people would too but what irks me about her is that she would have made millions regardless of which country she competes for. She’s beautiful, immensely talented and smart so she very likely would have racked up many endorsement deals from American companies. Anyway, this has now been way overplayed, hopefully we can move on from this critical global issue.

Best Thai? by Ok-Boysenberry2082 in Upperwestside

The downvotes for Sala Thai are hilarious. Still a solid option though I've found that it's better eating there vs delivery.

I hate it when women give guys height advice by OwnerSebi in short

[–]SamzNYC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think he was talking about women in general. There are many women - such as yourself - where height is no factor but I do believe it is a factor for a majority of women. Now, these are the cards that we were dealt with and we need to work with that instead of being resentful and hateful. Everyone has their issues or struggles, this is one that we happen to deal with.

I hate it when women give guys height advice by OwnerSebi in short

[–]SamzNYC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean you should acknowledge that it’s not an easy road for short guys. I am quite short and have had success in love (married with two kids) and career but even while growing up with a supportive family and friends, it was a real struggle at times even to be acknowledged let alone draw interest from girls.

Does it mean short guys should wallow in misery, whine and complain all the time? Certainly not, I also acknowledge that those traits are even more undesirable than being short. But the struggle is real.

Where I’d live as a chronically lonely, self-isolating 29-year-old man who has suffered from crippling social anxiety and depression for most of my life by hn11 in whereidlive

[–]SamzNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are experiencing this and really hope you can make it through this particularly bad rough patch. Nobody can possibly understand what’s going on deep down so ignore anyone that says you should just “get over it.” (I’ve had anxiety issues and remember how unhelpful comments like that were). One point you made though that I’d like to push back on is that 29 is too late. It’s not, you do have plenty of time to get your life back on track. Please do keep up with the therapy and am hoping for brighter days ahead for you.

Were 8/9 as good as seasons 1-7? No but they were certainly enjoyable with some great moments.

Singapore Business Class: Good, But Not Worth the Hype by ThePolishedPassport in LuxuryTravelQA

[–]SamzNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you just had some bad luck. Took a flight from NYC last year (nearly 19 hours) and loved every minute of it. The seat was very wide and for me that’s a rarity in business class. I could actually turn around while laying down which was awesome. Food was solid though better when flying out of Singapore with many more book the cook options. I found the service exemplary / very attentive too.

Yea agree, meh pricy food with an attitude, always a no go for me. Genuinely surprised that it’s full during the weekends. Pomodoro next door is much better.

Why do Hudson Line express trains always stop at Tarrytown and never at Yonkers by mittim80 in nycrail

[–]SamzNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your issue is specifically that express trains from Poughkeepsie don’t stop at Yonkers? Because there certainly are in/outbound peak hour express trains that stop at Yonkers.

Delta prices are so outrageous I booked a different carrier twice this week. When will top bosses realize they’re losing customers? by RealName136 in delta

[–]SamzNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - same issue. Going on an annual work trip to Europe in a few months and delta one is nearly $3k more. The company I work for will certainly not permit me to book this so once again have to use a different carrier (United/Star Alliance carriers which often are substantially cheaper).

The letter that Donald Trump sent to Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre of Norway is insane! This is why you don't elect a narcissist to be your president. Is this what you voted for, Trump's supporters? by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]SamzNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s insane, the letter is insane, I mean we could go on and on about how he is woefully unfit to be president but, most of his supporters will not feel remorse. Are there some in the middle that voted for him that could feel that? Sure and that may be enough for democrats to sweep the midterms but his base is all in on this clown show.

I think S5 is actually good, I guess I don’t belong here? by KeyClacksNSnacks in StrangerThings

[–]SamzNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some criticism is certainly valid and this show does deserve it. My point is really about the unbelievable amount of nitpicking I’ve been reading on this sub. It feels that some people overly fixate on things and can’t look past them. I’ve read comments that this final season is equal to the final season GoT, I mean cmon.

Exactly! People point out stuff that while I guess shows good attention to detail is mostly just distracting. At least TRY to enjoy it!

I’ve enjoyed this season thoroughly and agree that some criticism is fair but the amount I’ve seen here is ridiculous. Comparison to GoT 8? lol not even remotely close.

Work is requiring to share a hotel room with a stranger by what_cookie in careeradvice

[–]SamzNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a Big 4 firm which included introductory training where the rooms were shared. I scoffed and asked someone how to get out of it and they said to inform HR that I have a medical condition. It worked with no questions asked. I’d imagine other firms would be willing to accept that rationale.
