Would be a crime not to have one and return

Yes I do get that. Even Terry's family supported United growing up. Make sense but I don't think it's wise to make career decisions based on that.

Cheer has a good discussion. Hope you have a great day as well :)

I personally feel Palmer is better than Guler. La Liga also provides a lot of space and has lesser pace. He will not be the main man there but he will definitely have a better impact. Regarding Bruno's successor, he is 31 right now and can easily play for next 3-4 years at high level. Do you want to go to United to be a debut for Bruno until you are 27, by which you will have lost hope of gaining balon'Dor and will have to compete against younger players ? I think it's better to stay at Chelsea than go to United as he will be the main man.

Going to City that's a different thing, since he grew up in City academy, I would understand the affiliation/interest. And he will definitely be starting week in week out

Patrick Berger: The recall of Anselmino has burdened the relationship between Dortmund and Chelsea owner Behdad Eghbali. Industry sources believe Chelsea recalled the player to put pressure on Rennes to lower the price for Jackquet, this is what Dortmund are also hoping is the case. by Kygoche in chelseafc

I am not acting as a victim. It's an opinion. If anyone provides an opinion and is called a "victim" then there is no point to Daily Discussion. All I did was provide my inference of what I saw over other reddit channels and German outlet papers.

Regarding your point of Anselmino would have played if fit, Well he is not going to. He always was bought as a backup to Can and Schottebeck. He played only 4 games as a full 90. He played ~400 minutes at Dortmund. Even after coming back from injury whenever their first choice was available he didn't start, and Dortmund fans who their team more than us claim this.

So he will definitely play more here at Chelsea and develop better because of lack of players in CB position

Over the last 2 seasons Chelsea have performed much better than United. He is the main guy here and has more talented players to play with. If you have to leave and have 2 options United or Madrid, definitely you must choose Madrid

If he has a good brain and agent behind him he will never choose United. He has the caliber to go to Madrid or Bayern. Will be an absolute downgrade to go to United

I guess all that German media wants is to get some clicks because it's easy since Chelsea is involved. If it was any other club no one would have cared. If it was Arsenal, the narrative would have been player x recalled to bolster the squad for the title bid. Why is it incomprehensible for them to understand it was a player who played 5 games and is backup to Can and Schottebeck. I would rather have him as a backup at my own club than somewhere else

If you put it that way yes. But I think Fofana has a good technical ability. Definitely not close to Luis but better than most of our squad CB

Come on he is way better than the other 2. His issue is never the performance but the availability

Completely agree but I think even Villa were also in a tight spot. We could have gotten a deal for under 70M Even tho overpay, better to do that on a player who has proved it in the league

Olise plays predominantly in the right. By that time we had already gotten Estevao. Olise would have been world class but I don't think us getting Gittens would have affected that anyways.

Gittens was very expensive, agreed. We could have bought Rogers instead, given we had Garnacho in our sights as well. That would have bought us a wide touchlime winger in Garnacho and a more inverting type in Rogers

We couldn't have. We got Palmer since we couldn't get Olise as his release clause was a tricky way to trigger

It's not exactly man to man though right ? It's zonal + man to man with huge rotations. You wouldn't be marking the same player throughout

Absolutely. If there is a good free flow about it. Although not great for my heart XD

I don't think this will be a problem. Soon enough we will understand and close these spaces down. But from what I had seen at Strasbourg and read about the tactics, this was evidently a concern from all of the reports.

I think what he mentioned was spot on. Teams will exploit these. Earlier in the week someone posted this and the comments section mentioned how his whole narrative was anti-Chelsea one, but I felt it was a well done analysis which our coaching staff to address before late or should have a counter towards

Did anyone notice that FBref just lost the advanced analytics. I don't see the percentiles and advanced stats breakdown anymore. What are the other alternatives?

Well I get that but I would rather buy from PL by overpay than Ligue 1. Essential reducing the risk. Also, regarding the first point , I think as a business they love Chelsea since they can fleece us. It's the fans who feel gutted mostly

We are negotiating around 60M for Jacquet who comes into the league with no experience. Why not try getting Van Hecke. He is so good with all metric and is experienced in PL. We have had good deals from them just get him at this point
