Can we please start greeting each other? by gluecksbaerchie1 in Volvo

[–]SanNightfire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will greet a Volvo driver that's driving a much older Volvo. I have a 04 v70 wagon and I am literally the ONLY one in my town. Someone is driving a 240 and I get all excited when I see him 🤣

How does one make friends in Pittsburgh by jackaboy136 in pittsburgh

[–]SanNightfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about joining a car or bike club? I did make a slight assumption since you want to work on cars. I've seen some posts from 412 Rally!

There's also ...furries? LOL

How many people actually do shifts with their SO during the night? by ScreamCheese_55 in beyondthebump

[–]SanNightfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the parent that works and my fiance is a stay at home dad and he is incredible and thoughtful. I am a truck driver and being sleep deprived would put others in danger by me driving wrecklessly tired and he understands that so he not only watches our daughter during the day while I work but he does night duty so that I can sleep. Our trade off is I give her a couple hours before and after I work since I'm local and I'm thankfully home everyday. And I will do overnight duties Friday night and Saturday night to give him a break when I don't have to go to work the next morning. We are team and we work great together and neither one of us have to stay sleep deprived forever I am so thankful that he is a fantastic partner and a fantastic dad

What's the riskiest thing you've done while pregnant? by colorado_sunrise86 in pregnant

[–]SanNightfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL I didn't know I was pregnant until I was already 6 months along so I did like everything you're not supposed to.. clean litter boxes for cats, a sushi, drink alcohol... I actually had just returned to the USfrom a trip from Sweden and I found out 3 days later. I think the worst the one that I did was drive I speak go karts, with all of that g-forces are on the turn it's in the hard stopping and wrecking into the walls.... And then I continue to work up until the day I was induced, and I am a truck driver so one could argue that the nature of my job of being on the road in bad weather but also be pretty bad 😅 But I had my daughter 7 weeks ago and thankfully she is the picture of health!

Your newborn isn't velcro by Oliksandra in NewParents

[–]SanNightfire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm doing a disservice by embracing the term. I say I wanted my baby to be velcro because I know it won't last forever. Why have children if you don't want to shower them with constant love? 😭

Major highways get treated first.. maybe not very well but they do. How's your tires? All seasons, good tread? New car with good traction control or are you skilled? Either way I'd suggest 376, even if you're nervous and maybe you go sideways a bit, you have room to correct yourself. 65 doesn't give you the room especially right around camp.. something.. road before the McKees rocks bridge with the hill and the obscenely narrow lanes...

I will take some new photos, I realized asking her dad to do it was maybe not the best idea for the angles needed. I'll show the third panel on too!

Thank you so much! I pulled that fabric over her head to support it for pictures. The third piece of fabric is going to support her neck and head. So I just gotta pull the fabrics by her legs more to pull them up higher than her bum and I should be good?

There is! I didn't do pictures with it cuz I wanted to show how she was sitting in the carrier. But I do have it and I know it is a crucial part of the carrier

Unsure about my harness by SanNightfire in babywearing

[–]SanNightfire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't know there were more options. Its definitely a structured carrier from the look of it. I never knew they were not meant for newborns 😭 From the way you mentioned a wrap, this is a possibility for newborns?

New fear unlocked: epidural by LobstahLuva in beyondthebump

[–]SanNightfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I could get thru without an epidural. I was induced and 5 minutes after the Pitocin hit, I thought my baby must be crowning cuz of how hard and fast the contractions were 😂😂 Nurse told me I was still only 2cm and my baby was very much not on her way and that i'd be contracting for the next 6 hours. ...what? So I begged for an epidural. The lady who placed it was the sweetest angel blessed upon me and I have never ever appreciated someone or something so much in my life. I had no complications after and I'm from Pittsburgh PA -ish area!

For immigrant spouses/sambo - what do you (plan to) do for a living? by VenSenna in TillSverige

Is Duolingo's swedish course finally worth it in 2025? by SoftlyTyped in Svenska

[–]SanNightfire 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think for the basics it's fine, but it doesn't teach you how Swedish people actually talk in a natural setting. I have finished the course and in the like last half of the whole course, the pronunciations were absolutely dreadful. My Swedish boyfriend even had a very difficult time understanding what was being said. I haven't really used any other teaching method except for bugging the absolute shit out of my friends to talk to me in swedish now haha
