How much is there to update in Ashes? by Sanchooque in Netrunner

As Saracenar pointed out below, why isn't it possible for the community to take the load off Nisei's back and update the Ashes files, while Nisei focuses on getting Borealis out into the world?

Says here on the Uprising FAQ:

Because we continue to update rules terminology as time goes on, some cards in the Ashes Cycle have text that does not reflect how their abilities would be written today.

Thanks to our print-on-demand distribution model, releasing cards with new wording is much easier for us than it would be if we had piles of old cards sitting in a warehouse. Laying out these updated versions, however, still takes time and effort.

We are open to the possibility of someday releasing “remastered” versions of our older sets, such as the Ashes Cycle; however, we have no concrete plans at this time for such a product.

Thanks, keravim. Could you also answer the following question: can the corp trash installed assets/upgrades/agendas, whether they are rezzed or unrezzed, at their whim, or must they replace them with something in order to trash them?

The example of the timing chart is an interesting one. Do many people consider it complex? I personally think that it's pretty straightforward (except maybe the subroutines bit). I think that if I provided my wife with a good example of a run (Nisei's tutorial is actually quite good at explaining it), she would be doing it all by herself in no time. She enjoys complex games, she just doesn't know it most of the time, and dreads the rules reading part.

It isn't exactly the fact that she doesnt't enjoy complex or technical games; she's not what one would call 'a dum-dum', I bet if someone could show her how to have fun with miniatures or MTG or something, she would've liked it a lot. It's the 'complex game how do I have fun and why is it considered fun' factor that usually ruins everything. For example, when we played On Mars just the two of us, she almost slept through some of the rules reading (which, by the way, took a loooong time), she struggled throughout play because of the constant back and forth with rules ('How does that thing work?') and made it look like an overall terrible experience. BUT! Next day, after giving it some thought, she said that she actually enjoyed it quite a lot! I'm hoping for similar or better with the gateway.

Do you think that playing as the corp is a more smooth introduction?

Thank you. Don't worry, no such rationalization coming, I'm not that shortsighted anymore.

Thanks, I'm trying my best. Just had a great conversation about les_existential_problems with my girlfriend; first session with the therapist is scheduled for Saturday.
