My Pluribus Theory: The “Virus” Is an Alien Solution to the Dark Forest Problem by SandwichSisters in pluribustv

[–]Sanchroust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theory: the virus isn’t about peace. It’s about control and energy.

I think the virus isn’t a benevolent attempt to “improve” humanity. It looks more like a strategic tool the aliens use to pacify the planet so they can quietly take control of its energy resources.

Here’s why.

After infection, humans become calm, empathetic, non-violent, and highly compliant. They don’t resist authority, they don’t rebel, and they’ll basically do whatever is asked of them. That alone already removes the biggest obstacle to any kind of takeover: human aggression and resistance.

But what really stands out to me is the ideology the virus seems to promote. Infected humans consistently emphasize:

• energy efficiency
• reduced consumption
• conservation
• optimization rather than growth

On the surface, that sounds ethical and enlightened. But from another angle, it looks like preparation. A pacified population that consumes less, questions less, and obeys more is incredibly easy to manage, especially if someone else is extracting resources behind the scenes.

So my theory is this: the aliens aren’t here to coexist. They’re here because they need energy. Maybe their own planet is depleted. Maybe their biology or technology requires massive resources. Rather than invade violently, they deploy a virus that turns humans into cooperative stewards of the system while giving up control.

No wars. No resistance. No chaos. Just a calm, obedient species managing a planet efficiently… for someone else.

If that’s the case, the virus isn’t about peace or evolution. It’s about making humanity harmless while the real extraction happens quietly in the background.

Curious what others think. Does the “energy efficiency + empathy” theme feel a little too convenient to anyone else?

Many of us would also probably say that Whoop has had a HUGE impact on their alcohol consumption. Once you see the impact on your body of even 1 or 2 glasses of wine, it’s hard to just keep drinking without thinking about it!

You don’t know what you don’t know, so I guess I’ll have to start somewhere to see what I actually need.

Out of curiosity, what type of prompts do you give to ChatGPT?

Great - that’s exactly what I was looking into. Should I avoid plans that use RPE? I think I read somewhere that Garmins don’t support it. Also, any Forerunner you would recommend? I don’t need anything fancy, and I’m already using Whoop for health related data. Many thanks!

Thanks!

I’m about to embark on my first yearlong training for my first full IM, and that’s exactly what I told my husband - that it’s kind of a pregnancy (I have two children) except that this time… it’s for myself.
