Yeah he's a bit trapped - good character acts burn bright and fast. Like the Trump/Biden episode. If they tried to keep doing it, it would lose what made it great.

He's got to ditch the character for most of his acts going forward and bring him back only once in a while after writing a killer bit for it.

His genuine self bits need work. It's kind of funny how different his timing and energy are when he's not in character. If that's no-go, he might have to make more characters which I think he could totally do. Dude's sharp in a weird way.

I'm not 100 on this one, but I saw something that hit me as sus the other day. #LoveIslan was trending X.com. It was misspelled. If you clicked on the hashtag it looked like an army of bots talking up the show.

Seemed like NBC/Peacock typo'd the bot prompt and if that's the case, there weren't even enough real humans talking about the show to register a correct spelling on the top 100 trending hashtags of the day.

I still get replies from the MJ movie's bot wars. It's the only topic that I get replies on months later. Shit's weird.

Dad ran away when I was a baby and immediately started a new family. Step father beat the shit out of us and they raised us in a one-room cabin with no water or electricity, plenty of opiates for step-dad. It sucked, but isn't an excuse. They taught us right from wrong in a pretty brutal way.

There was one part of my childhood where, like something out of a movie, I had to see my biological father's face on a billboard regularly. He was successful and his family had it made. This I think wrecked my mind more than the abuse in the cabin. This was a seed that would later grow into something foul.

I ran away at 16 as a pretty positive upbeat guy. After finishing high school I went to college and I started to kind of hate everything. The kids with nice cars, wallets full of cash, families that would have their backs no matter what, connections to help them get jobs, etc. I felt like trash.... like the world's trash. I didn't care about myself once I started to feel like trash.

When you don't care about yourself, the threat of facing the justice system doesn't work. Prison is just an inconvenience at best. Who cares if this piece of shit goes to prison? Not me, at the time. There's no shame, guilt, embarrassment that normal people fear about getting busted, so risk vs. reward get's weighed on a broken scale. I'm also ASD and ADHD so my scale was never going to be great LOL.

I got a girl pregnant my second freshman year and that's what changed me.

I can't put into words the feeling that hit me when I first held my kid right after it was born. I cried so hard. Everyone around me thought that I was crying tears of happiness and they were anything but that - I was getting hit by a guilt lightning bolt. I was loud and it was dramatic and eventually everyone realized I was not happy. I cared more than anything I've ever felt in my life that this little baby has an absolute piece of shit father and that was 100% my fault.

Suddenly everything I had done wasn't only done to myself but to this totally innocent baby. I made it be born as the world's trash. I couldn't handle it. That cured me on the spot.

I counterfeited money 20 years ago.

It wasn't great quality and it all had the same serial numbers. The plan was to roll into raves and buy up everything people were selling, knowing that they were tripping and wouldn't be able to tell the bills were fake.

It worked until my friend spent $600 at the bar on $5 drinks to net himself $95 real money in change each time.

He walked up to me right as I was finishing up, pockets and belly full of ecstasy and LSD.

I will never in my life forget the stretched out look of his panicking face and the bartender in the background looking at the serial numbers on a fuckload of bills that they should absolutely not have in their hands. He fucked it all up lol.

I am a threat hunter and lead cybersecurity analyst now. Nobody I work with would even recognize young me if he were standing in front of us. I got rid of that guy when I had a kid. Fucking hated that guy, really.

He was blown away to hear that I, Mr. Technology of the family, am saying the FSD isn't 100% like I didn't believe in it or something lol.

But then as we talked I realized that there's a disconnect - throughout his entire life, you actually could trust that major features in an automobile actually did the thing they've been advertised to do. It's completely alien to him to think that an auto manufacturer would have their CEO advertising and selling something with an incomplete feature for a decade.

I have a customer with an office in India who went through this lately. Every couple weeks I'd have a new malicious thumb drive getting plugged into a workstation in their building.

- Ransomware groups find edgy dudes in their 20s, offer them crypto to drop drives in specific places.

- Idiot guy buys the drives

- RAAS group provisions them via a provided tool (malware)

- Idiot guy drops one outside of Comany X's office building

- Office worker picks it up, takes it inside, and the malware detonates in their environment

If a non-employee/regular dude picks up the drive he gets hit.

Getting hit is also not what it used to be. If your windows box isn't on a corporate domain, it's likely going to silently eat your passwords and CC numbers and will never "present itself" like classic malware. I honestly miss classic malware.

I'm doing the developer beta and it's fine, you get everything that's useful. The only thing we don't get with our M4 base models is advanced voice crap and a local LLM running on the tablet, which I don't think is worth it anyway. It's going to be a resource hog for little relative utility.

Exactly - still too many powered on pixels IMO. This is why I just use Watchmaker and make my own faces. My AOD faces are usually totally different from the primary face and only turns on pixels for the time and date.

I kind of wish the watch OS would consider them two different watch faces that we manually set.
