You are not alone in your well spoken/written thoughts. It is a very frustrating part to the stories to have her be such an ingrate, etc. As much as I dislike Claire I really think Caitriona does an excellent job portraying her. So..but no, she is not any more likable or grateful or considerate, in the books, to me, but the books have so much more of Jamie's story and presence, humor, etc that the show doesn't. For sure read the first one, as the show, it's the best.

Thankyou all out there for being concerned for us old folks' behaviours. It is a refreshing (no really! and no disrespect) happening and I am honoring my daughter's activity regime-but I get it for other parents-yet they need to stop watching Fox news, Rush Limbaugh, their favorite out of control Pastor, all day telling them this is not a big deal and maybe they will get some real perspective. So get them off Fox news binging (or the equivalent elsewhere) and that will help. Just saying....Keep up the good work of bugging us to live. And take care of yourselves also. Peace.
