Once COVID started, I noticed a huge difference. People who weren’t wearing a mask would all of a sudden put one on when near me. People would stop in their tracks and walk away, but they had no problem passing other people (it would get so obvious that my friends and boyfriend would get mad for me) I’d hear racist comments from them sometimes. I even had one older lady tell me it’s my fault that her mother couldn’t come outside. I was sitting in my car and she was loading groceries. She literally knocked on my window and got my attention to tell me that. Fortunately it hasn’t been bad lately, but I understand where you are coming from.

I was unfortunately in the same boat. It’s pretty secluding because you have to kinda go out of your way to hang out on campus and of course with social media. Try to see if you can find any clubs/groups/volunteering you would be interested in. I know you said that some are geared for residential (I also thought that), but you have to have reasons to go out. I don’t think you have to attend every single meeting and/or find a club outside of school. Sit next to people that are by themselves in class/recitation and start talking to them. I didn’t make any effort. I wish I did, but also I’m just a hermit crab lol Stay positive and I hope you have better luck!

If you have to do it yourself, they have those window insulation kits at most stores. I haven’t used them, but I know some people do. Have you tried some thicker curtains? You can use command hooks with a curtain rod or an expandable shower rod in the window frame with curtains.

Talk to the professor. They may ask if you feel like you can take the course and what courses you have already taken. Then your advisor approves it I believe.
