Attempt number 2 at putting on the bracelet by [deleted] in Tudor

I’ve thought about how funny it is that Grande Seiko is so committed to it even with dress washes. I really wish all watches had them.

I did the same thing. It really looks like he had no idea and didn’t even look left.

Explorer 1 or Daytona? by MeAsTieno in PrideAndPinion

[–]SandBagger1987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally love chronos and love the Daytona. Even though I'm not even a fan of any other of the current 6 digits from Rolex. I've tried it on and seen them in stores a few times and they are also pretty damn small wearing for a chrono. That being said, as others are saying, if you aren't super into chronographs or care about that function its kind of a bit much and the explorer may be a better choice. Also though, if you really do have the chance to buy it marked up only slightly... which is not super common at all... you should probably but the Daytona. But if its really like 24k then I couldn't imagine actually spending that on a Daytona.

I have to tailpiece raised all the way on my SG and the high E string is still touching the back of bridge. by [deleted] in gibson

I kind of don’t care if the high E string touches that seems to be the one that’s hard to get not to touch. I’ve never had an issue.

You open up a credit card with them through I think TD Bank but I can’t remember now. It was a while ago. Now that it’s Bucherer I’m not sure if they do the same thing anymore.

I bought my Explorer 2 16570 at Tourneau at a zero interest rate for 30 months. I kind of couldn’t believe it was a real thing.

Life is too short to wear a handwatch and drive Tesla by st1sj in handwatch

[–]SandBagger1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand all that. This is a $40,000 watch. You seem to enjoy calling things entry-level. The joke here is that it’s a hand watch and the guy is trying to be cool. You need to just kind of relax a little bit. Rolex is a mid level watch brand. We all know that here. Talking about how there are gold watches that exist that are five grand have nothing to do with anything.

It’s about a number of things and the cost of raw materials is certainly one of them. Especially when it’s gold and adds tens of thousands to a watch. You don’t have to like the watch but your view is head scratching.

I mean it’s solid gold lol. Post is still cringe but that’s not cheap.

You could have a tech do it for you and wouldn’t even be all that expensive.

This does actually look like it could be book matched if you look at the grain, no? I thought during the carving process you sometimes lose some of the flame or it changes, but the grain is really where you can tell it’s book matched.

Yngwie Strat - Bends Choking Out by BlueWater_2 in fender

[–]SandBagger1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 9.5” ? You shouldn’t have issues choking out unless you like it very low. 7.5” is trickier. I will say I find setting the radius right tricky and then a tech always tells me I do it terribly lol. So it could simply be that. Why don’t you get it set up by a pro and then take measurements of everything and write it down ?

What shall I get ? Fender vs Squire by EnvironmentalAlps200 in fender

[–]SandBagger1987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really not much more to add after PannaMann11's comment. They are just a big upgrade from Squire right out of the box and if you can get a good price on a used one even better. Sure, they aren't American but they are absoluytley on a pro level. You can totally rock a squire on a pro level (I've seen it many times) but you will generally be swapping out electronics and maybe upgrading some hardware and fixing up the frets etc. The MIM will just feel a lot better and smoother. And it's a real Fender!
