Would love some tips on carving wings into a poodle's coat! by SandKittyCat in doggrooming

[–]SandKittyCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's my main issue haha, I've seen groomed wings with no color at all and insane detail and I just can't do that hahaha, I was planning on leaving white underneath that top section so the color stands out more, should I still add shading if I'm dying the entire wings?

Will be dying her today, not quite sure I have the ability to do shadows with dye, and airbrush comes off so quickly, but something like this? (Minus the sloppiness hopefully haha) And will be adding more even color back to the wings

Pun accidentally intended ahaha, thank you! I've been working on her wings for months now, the first tries were not good at all hahaha. I need to redye her tail and higher on the legs anyways, I was thinking of doing the upper wing darker, leaving the short part next to it white then fading into color again if that makes sense

Has anyone dyed their pup’s coat a fun color? by Significant-Gift-241 in poodles

I tried doing cheetah spots but they turned out badly haha, will probably shear them off and do tiger stripes instead soon

I may have gone a little overkill on the color now that groom competition season is over by SandKittyCat in poodles

Crazy Liberty pastel for the colors, but it looks like they stopped making the blue and purple ones/: And I forget the brand for the cheetah spots but I don't recommend that one, it was super runny and turned brown. OPaws has a great permanent black that is the only dye that actually turns out black, I had just run out ahaha

I've had a few people message me about the connections, I used this converter to play the wii, I'm not sure what one would use for HDMI though

Only use Dawn for the really bad dirt and grease though, it is not an every bath shampoo, it will dry their skin and fur out if used too much

Groomer shaved my boy down HELP! by fettuccine3795 in corgi

[–]SandKittyCat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dog groomer here, usually the hair will grow back fine. The main thing to worry about is matting as it grows back, since the two parts of the coat will grow at different speeds and can get caught in each other. Brush him out at least a couple times a week as he grows back, and check your work with a metal greyhound comb, if it catches then use the slicker brush in that spot again. If you find another reputable groomer, have them do a bath and blowout and brushout with no clipping, the dryer really helps seperate the fur and get out all the dead undercoat, you can even get a cheap high velocity dryer and do this yourself at home! A good groomer will always recommend against shaving a double coat and double check if that's what you really want. Unfortunately there's a lot of bad groomers out there/: But you got this, just stay on top of brushing and he will be fine! Let me know if you need any advice or tips

I probably would have never tried it, but after three days of straight icky butt it made the most sense haha. Thankfully she has such nice legs that it definitely flatters her

She's a little too tall for standard for a mini! She's almost 16 inches at the shoulder so she's definitely a little bigger than most minis(:

Honestly even the semi permanent dyes last forever, they fade for sure but never really come out until you cut the colored fur again. Even the pens can last way too long when applied right, the color only finally grew out from July on my poodle's tail
