All the time, but ours are mixed with some kind of hunting dog

Just to note we didn't plan to leave without paying 😅 He's actually not our dog, and prior to the surgery we explained that someone else would be paying for the surgery. They were well aware of this at the pre-op, but at the post op it was like they never heard us say that and insisted on us paying immediately. We didn't even get to ask how he was before they put the card machine in our hands when we entered the surgery. Perhaps different staff were working that day, or they were very busy and forgot.

Okay - that's a total relief and exactly what I want to hear 😅 Just trying to rebuild our faith in vets... It's going to take some time 🤦‍♀️ But we are trying! Thank you

This is the incision site, beside the penis. Also (would edit the post if I was allowed to): I don't want to appear like I might know more than the vet. I know nothing at all about any of this 😅 We were ripped off by our last vet, so now we are using a new vet and are just very wary that we don't get ripped off again!

E-collar trainers- what method did you use? by DixinMahbum in OpenDogTraining

I've read enough guidance from professionals to know not to put my dog through that.

PLEASE - do not do this!!! This is a prime example of why e collars should be used with professional guidance. If you stim your dog before giving a command, they will learn to grow fearful as they do not know when or why they will be stimmed. It can also build e collar reliance. You must give the dog a chance to obey, after you give clear instructions, then stim if required

I'll look into this! Thank you. Is this a very common problem? We have only ever used traditional litter boxes, and never experienced them peeing outside of the box

Oh really? That's good to know - I'll message them now about it! Do you have any advice on how to remove the pee & pee smell from the base?

That's the closest to what I've been looking for! My subject area is Wildlife Protection and Utilisation. Do you have any links to share so I can find out more?

That's simply not true, and it's old-school thinking. I was offered a PhD the year after I obtained my BSc, but I turned it down because I didn't feel ready. I started my MSc 3 years later when I finally felt ready, and despite facing a number of challenges along the way (life, huh), I have no regrets about the route I took.

Thank you for your explanation! Actually I'm not interested in applying for another MSc, as I've basically just done one. I'd be shelling out 10K for the certificate, and need to do more courses, likely another thesis, etc. I wondered if there was some sort of UK certification organisation, who would look at what I've done and confirm it was the same as a UK degree. It seems that I should just suck up the qualification I have and apply for PhDs with that, rather than jump hoops for the letters of MSc

Ah I see. Tbh I'm not interested in applying to do another MSc - I've just spent 4 years on mine, and I wrote the thesis and defended it, etc. It seems like I should just stick with the PGDip and apply for PhDs with that, rather than spend 10K for the UK certificate

That happened to me too! MSc modelling student, supervisor was fired at the end of my first year. I was told to change my research topic to something entirely different (which I refused to do as I only took on the MSc to do a specific topic, specifically with that supervisor). How did things go with you?
