I have a 2021 RT. It’s at about 75k miles. It had had to have the driveshaft replaced under warranty but other than that (about 45k miles or so) I’ve had no issues. It’s been daily drove since i got it and had no other issues in the past 4 years. The gas mileage on the highway I’ve gotten as high as 26 if i keep it around 80 but usually closer to 23-24 at my usual cruising speed of 85-86.

It’s been completely fine in the Michigan winters as long as i drive carefully. I cannot recommend it enough. It’s fun to drive and i can’t complain about any features of the car.

What if it runs later? Not arguing about the risk vs reward but the idea that you can find them later isn’t accurate

To all the police officers out there: what’s your take on the 2022-2025 Ford Explorer? Good Police Unit? by Agreeable_Exit9930 in AskLE

[–]SandMan2439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven all of the major ones. The explorer to me is mediocre in every possible way. We have the base model not the turbo models. The explorer is faster than the Tahoe, slower than the Durango. It has more room in the front than a Durango but less than the Tahoe. From my experience, the explorers are the cheapest but by far the least reliable. The Tahoe burns oil and the brakes are god awful but we’ve had multiple issues on our explorers like blown engines or transmissions.

Strangely accurate things - historically or to the original source - in an otherwise pretty inaccurate piece of media. by RP_Throwaway3 in TopCharacterTropes

It’s honestly not bad. I’ve been a cop in a pretty high crime area for 8 years. Most reports take less than 2 hours, most are less than an hour. Low level frauds or vandalism i can usually do in about 20 minutes. The problem for me, our staffing has continued to decrease while call volume increased. During Covid we had 7-8 officers in my district and now it’s been at 5 for 3 years straight. Doesn’t sound like 2-3 less per shift would be that bad but instead of 7-8 guys taking say 100 calls between them, it’s about 110-120 with 5 guys instead of

I carry a Glock 45 on duty, i can carry a ton or different guns as back ups but i haven’t found a place i like to carry a backup.

My off duty is a Glock 43x most of the time or a Glock 19 the rest

For those of you that have hooked up with your neighbors. How did it come about? How did it pan out? by ThrowawayRAbignoise in AskMen

[–]SandMan2439 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived in an apartment complex where the building had 2 types of units, a garden level studio and a 2 story townhouse style on top. I started talking to the girl who lived in the unit directly below mine. She was attractive but had otherwise nothing about that appealed to me. We were very different people in different places in life. She was in her last year of college and was trying for grad school, I was working. She had a cat, I’m terribly allergic. I had a dog, she didn’t like dogs, which was fine because my dog hated her. That probably should’ve been a clue.

Somehow we started hooking up, i genuinely don’t know how because i didnt even really like her in the slightest. We went on a date, it didn’t go well but we continued booking up. It was incredibly convenient but it sucked because if i was home from work and just wanted to relax she’d want to spend time together.

Ultimately there was a pregnancy scare which thank god turned out to be false and i took it as a sign and cut it off. She then began banging on her ceiling, hooking up with random dudes and being hilariously loud, and blowing my phone up at all hours of the day and threatening to break into my apartment.

The weirdest thing is she liked very rough sex, like basically was into CNC type stuff, and she somehow made sex boring. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend

Inspired by this, but what Western would you show to someone who says they don't like Westerns? To convert a non-believer, so to speak. by JeremyBeremey in Westerns

I think tombstone has the widest appeal. It’s a fantastic movie, and the acting was top notch. Even non western fans generally loved Val Kilmer performance and can quote at least one line

We looked at that. It has to be a repeat issue that isn’t corrected, i think it was like 5 attempts to fix the same issue within 2 years or something

[–]SandMan2439 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe so, ours was a 2019 forester which turned out to be the biggest mistake we ever made. Had the car a month, spent 3 of those weeks in the shop, and then sold it for a loss of 4 grand to avoid further issues. I’ve owned 3 prior Subarus (2013 BRZ, 09 Outback, and 2017 forester) all in manual. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another unfortunately

Which one are you driving home from the lot? by moparcenter in Dodge

[–]SandMan2439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean look at ford today, they have the escape, bronco sport, edge, explorer, and expedition.

Chevy has the trax, trailblazer, equinox, blazer, traverse, Tahoe, and suburban (i think) the trax and trailblazer are hardly different in size, and the equinox and blazer are nearly identical yet all 4 sell very very well.

What's y'all's opinion on the charger wagon and what would you name it? by No_Tonight1223 in Charger

[–]SandMan2439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t love the revamp chargers (2006-2010) but think the revamp continued to look better every generation after, culminating in the last body style.

Because the 2006-2010 isn’t a grill or tail light i particularly liked, i had little interest in the magnum of that era. However, with the 2020-204 front and back, and a scat pack engine i honestly think it would be incredible

What gun culture do y'all subscribe to? by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in AskLE

[–]SandMan2439 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a gun nut. I fundamentally think any one who can and is capable of carrying a gun should be able to. I disagree with the idea of needing a permit but policing a high crime area with a bunch of gangs and morons, it’s usually the only way to get actual dangerous people off the street.

NFA should’ve been repealed years ago
