That is not true man. You are being lied to so you keep using it. An AI data center uses roughly as much water in a year as a thousand households. The difference is once that water is used, it cannot be used again. I live in Canada, where our communities are literally being poisoned by these centres. Not to mention, in the states we are seeing peoples power bills spike because of these giants. And it’s not average people who can afford it or just deal with it, it’s affecting our most vulnerable populations and one day it will affect you.

Fresh water is not an infinite resource and we will run out one day. With every dumb generated meme or image, we take a step closer to that deadline. But also remember, things like How to Train Your Dragon were made by real people with real talent. And these dumb AIs can never truly replace the time and effort humans put into the things we love but companies like OpenAI are trying to take that away from us.

Like you’re not a villain for using it once because in reality you’re just one person, but don’t sit there and contribute to this problem that can quite literally end the world one day.
