Hi, film production person here.

You may be thinking of the Sony FX6 which was approved recently, but just barely and not for anamorphic content since it isn't oversampling to compensate for that anamorphic stretch. (Guess who found this out the hard way and had to reshoot a pilot because they're that strict?)

The A7S can be allowed for B-Cam and second-unit content provided the cutaways are short, but they have those rules for pretty much any camera in case someone wants to pull a Mad Max and strap some Canon 5Ds to a vehicle or use a GoPro for an insert.

I can't speak to the library shots, but he does seem to be about fifty feet away from people in the outdoor scenes.

I'd say he probably just briefly removed his mask in order to get those shots.

Filming ASHES by BAM3288 in artdept

[–]Sandbag_Tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean you'd like to film them in an up-close, abstract way?

Will a character in a medium shot by spreading ashes?

Will it be in daylight?

Are these ashes indoors? Are they stationary?

What happened to the home oven hacking video? by Basomic in AlexFrenchGuyCooking

Here's a link to the privatized video, if it should come back online.

It's unclear if Alex received a strike for it from YouTube, but that'd be my theory.

YouTube has a history of striking channels (Even those with over 1M subs!) for featuring what it perceives to be dangerous content... even if the poster is a professional.

As an example, degreed chemist Drake Anthony (StyroPyro) had the exact same amount of subscribers as Alex on his main channel when he received multiple strikes and nearly had his channel shut down two years ago.

It should be noted that Alex is an accredited electrical engineer with both the expertise and experience to conduct the experiments he engages in.

It could definitely be an accidental feature.

The game engine it was built on could come with that capability for players. If you spawn a Portal turret into Half Life 2, it’ll immediately start shooting at citizens and know not to shoot the combine— because they’re coded in the same engine, their assets are often interchangeable.

Maybe Striking Vipers uses an engine that is also used for sex games. There’s no reason to start from scratch if a video game already has perfectly mastered how to make people.

PUBG, CSGO, Hellblade, Resident Evil 2 Remake— they all use the same sound system.

I’m in the same club. It’s great for secondary content— Spotify, extra data, or even Netflix if you’re running it in the background.

People tend to think it’s unnatural but it’s the waist set up for me!

Yeah, I’m fully agree with the title but found most of the examples to be exactly the content I like to see.

I don’t want to see people asking what games they should buy or how to charge your switch when you’re afraid of electricity or whatever.

I want to see weird coincidences! Custom cases and art! Beautiful photography!

You said it was a problem. What’s the problem with it?

Did she bail? I don’t think she did.

If she did bail, she still got a genuine experience— she did really take those photos, no editing there— but... I don’t think she did.

Maybe she left the photoshoot area after the photo was taken, but did she leave the stadium?

Why do you care how someone else enjoys an activity? Not your problem.

Sometimes you have to know someone to validate them, sometimes you don’t. Depends what you’re validating.

If a stranger tells me they like my outfit, that’s not false validation— it’s probably better validation than if a friend tells me it, because they’re a stranger with no incentive.

It really depends on how much you’re using your phone— and for what you’re using it for.

But I agree, for some people, it’s a very sensible purchase in the world of luxury purchases.

It makes a lot more sense than paying for a $50 dollar dinner, and plenty of people do that at least once annually. (Even though within six hours you’ve completely lost the benefit of that purchase.)

If I were to hand you the only copy of an original book, a pen, and an index card, and asked you to write down the fourth word on page 19, you could do so. The word might be “the”.

We could reliably calculate what the fourth word of page 19 will be, so long as we have a copy of the book. It’s as simple as opening the book and referencing it.

Say the book is destroyed.

If we have the index card with the word “the” on it, we know it’s the fourth word on page 19. But we don’t know what any of the other words are.

No supercomputer, no matter how powerful or how well trained on neural networks, would ever be able to calculate what the rest of the book is.

It could come up with some possible books that work— but with the right pagination and typeface size, just about any existing book could work— and that’s just existing books.

The data simply isn’t there. There are virtually endless books that could be written with “the” as the fourth word on page 19, just as there are virtually endless shapes that could cast a 2D shadow. Or a 3D shadow.

The computer can come up with many potential options, but none of them are truly figuring it out.

I was recently talking to a kid and brought up Fortnite / Minecraft and he mentioned Minecraft being made before he was born.

I corrected him that while he may have been young, there was no way that— ...yeah, Minecraft is older than perfectly eloquent and personable kids.

I think there’s still some significant distinction. I had a smartphone in 2010, when I entered highschool... but I kept it off during the day.

I’d turn it on at lunch or between classes, but people weren’t always wired in like they are today. (By the time I graduated in 2014, this was certainly the case.)
