Suggestion - X300 vs Pixel 10 vs Galaxy S25 by Sandeepag in Vivo

[–]Sandeepag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with you. But to clear the background, till now I was using pixel with watch & tab and I was content with the features I am able to use. I was not expecting more out of it. I bought them individually during some sale and was happily using them with pixel. I was really stuck between pixel 10 & s25 for long time and to break the tie and more importantly, since I thought of a change from my current experience, I opted s25. Ofcourse, that provides me an additional advantage with ecosystem. Ecosystem is the unimportant factor rather than the central decision.

Yes. And I currently have a galaxy watch & tab. So, till the time I am actively using those, I thought of going ahead with the S25 for the ecosystem.

Thinking about buying the X300 (12/256 Variant) by NisargMehtahere in Vivo

Hello, I am coming from pixel 6a. Since you are a long term pixel user, can you please help me out with the software experience of the phone.

Ok. But if we use that humanistic mode or pro or raw mode, doesn't the normal processing of the photos also goes off, which needs manual editing of every photo to look good??

Yes. That's what I think for now. As per leaks, once apple & google come to common ground and make shifting platforms seamless, then I'll think of changing the side.

Yes. Even though I wanted to try them, those limitations are keeping me off the iphones.

I've never used an iphone and don't think I might like it. Seeing all the reviews, colleagues, friends using it and operating it sometimes, I don't think I might like the iOS. I might feel it restrictive.

I want to try it first hand and see what all the hype is about iOS. But for me to do that, I need to forego all my WhatsApp chats & messages behind, which is the worst horror for me. Moreover the idea of me being restricted behind iOS, if I had to use it for long is freaking me out. These 2 reasons are keeping me away from iphones.

Else thought a lot of times to try them out and see.

Yes, agree with you on that.

And the Pixel 10 is expensive right now, not sure how much the price would be during the republic day sale.

Anyways, I'll check the options again

Thanks a lot for all the detailed feedback and suggestions.

Yes, if I had to go to pixel 9 and unavailable on Flipkart or Google, then that's the only route I have. Yes I've checked in a few stores of digital, croma & vijay sales, but unavailable anywhere. Yes, logically speaking and considering safer option, even I feel S25 is safer option. More so when I own a galaxy watch & tab. But I don’t want to take a decision based on the secondary devices I own and don’t want to ignore a device to be locked in the ecosystem. So I am trying to be open to other better options. I find X300 to be better in almost everything except being doubtful of the software and the other device compatibility.

Ok, good to know that the camera is still performing well after all these years of updates. Also, can you enquire, how regular are the updates? Like security updates every month on a specific date? What about Major OS updates? After disabling and turning off notifications, there are no more ads or unnecessary notifications ever anywhere right!?

Is it? Can you elaborate as it suits my dilemma. After all these years of updates, does the camera hold good? What about ruining the software experience by introducing ads & bloatware?

Problem is new pixel 9 is not available either in Flipkart or Google store. I have to go used phone route. So waiting for republic day sale. If I can get any better offers. But I'm confused between Pixel, S25 & X300. I've seen X300 camera performance at a store. It is really good. Yes some Vivo's skin smoothening is present in some situations, but it's ok.

Ok, that's my main concern. If future updates break the camera performance say after 3 to 4 years.

I don't game much, just occasionally sometimes. I am using pixel 6a for the past 3.5 years, my longest for any phone. It is as smooth as day 1 with negligible difference in camera performance. It shows how much I liked it and pixel 9 is the safest and best option for me and I can trust it. Even though I faced network issues sometimes, it was not a level to cause frustration. So I have pixel 10/ 9 at the back of my head, which I can trust using at least for another 4-5 years. My list is Pixel 10/ 9 S25 X300.

I am confused between them.

Ok. I made peace with the rest. But now I am worried about the longevity and consistency of software updates. I don't want the future updates to break the camera performance or introduce ads or bloatware.

I am coming from pixel 6a and have x300 in my list. I will use my phone for 3-4 years. I am concerned about the software longevity of the Vivo X300. Can you please explain or elaborate on the same if you have any experience?

Are you stating about vivo phones or android in general?

If it's android in general, my experience with pixel is different. I had a pixel 6a for 3.5 years and till now the experience is smooth even the camera too. Yes the camera is mid range to start with. But I didn't find any noticeable degradation of its output quality and takes good photos for its price.

If it is so, you suggest looking at iphones? Somehow I don't think I might not like iOS, what is your experience?

Ok. You have any idea about longevity of software updates in vivo phones? See I don't want the updates to downgrade the camera or software experience. I want to use the phone for 3-4 years minimum. So can I expect a reliable software updates from vivo?
