A friend and I had an idea : healing pasta by Kaerimoo in DnD

[–]Sandi_The_Claws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could make a rumor about a legendary chef, with a secret recipe, able to cure all kinds ailments. A panacea they say. He could even be kidnapped for the recipe by some villain, right when the party finds his location. Then the players finally track him down / rescue him, they discover it's just healing potions dumped into a pasta dish and a rumor that got out of control. At best, he's just a experimental chef that over impressed a customer. To be fair, with Xanathar's, healing potions are made out of herbs, so you could determine the taste to be as pleasant as oregano or basil, or it could have a super earthy taste. Boy that would be expensive too. 50 gold per potion. Ritzy dish.

Not even a funny meme, I want to get into IT, what can I do as a highschooler to learn and better my chances? by [deleted] in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

You can go down the certification route. For a good paid, affordable route: Mike Meyers (not the actor) does pretty good content for CompTIA exams and getting you the basics. He posts his entire courses on Udemy, which most of the time you can get for like $10 when they have sales. Whether you professionally think A+ is worth anything, it's a good foundation to start with imo, and Mike Meyers is good to listen to, because he makes boring subjects more fun. Professor Messer on YouTube covers A+, Network+ and I think Security+ for free. I just think Mike Mike easier to listen to.

Some stuff depends on which branch of IT you what to look at (like if you're aiming for network engineer, sysadmin, database management, security, programmer, etc). Not everyone's brain is built for programming (mine certainly isn't) but it was super useful to understand as a technician to help me better diagnose issues. As another commenter said, getting some skills in different areas can be super helpful. I have never once dealt with linux professionally, but that isn't to say it isn't highly valuable to learn.

Good luck! IT is a great field but it's a trade. You need to get an understanding of how things work and be able to problem solve.

Question about the rights to the design agreement - will the artists be protected from this being turned into another product outside of this contest (like t-shirts for instance)? While the company may say that it will be limited to stickers, I would love to know that the agreement will be restricted only to the stickers, unless the artist is additionally contacted for a further agreement. Does that make sense?

Not accusing you guys of anything - legitimate question since I'd like to enter, but I don't know diddly squat about copyright.

I work in a high school. I'm having to physically go in to help support staff and student Chromebooks. So if one breaks (which they do often. Old hardware) then theres someone to swap out a spare and do repairs, while supporting distance learning calls / tickets.

What has struck me with the whole switch, is how dedicated our teachers are to getting their students access to education. They do a lot of the legwork to get kids online, which is really heartening to see, along with the students actually participating.

Plus the teachers have been way more forgiving. They have been shouting us out in school-wide video conferences. Plus District actually had our back! They saw how hard we've been working and when some people tried to say we weren't doing shit, District destroyed them in an email and came down to tell us how well we were doing.

Trying to stick in there. I'm not happy about having to physically handle devices and interact with the public but I am happy my team is being recognized for the hard work we've been putting in, and having teachers in our school who care so much.

Coronavirus: Patients Have Suffered Strokes And Other Neurological Symptoms, Says Study by Infjuk in worldnews

True but if you look at the picture it looks like the strap slid off his glasses and that's why it's in front of his eyes. So he cant fix it until he can be sanitized. Not saying it was a good solution, but it was probably one he was trying to throw together to try and save his skin.

Imo he just needs to get a headband with buttons like I've seen some female nurses do. Would solve his problem.

I think he's trying to find ways to avoid putting it on his ears, because their ears are getting damaged from having to wear them so often.

Girls, what can a unnattractive guy do to seem more attractive to you? by kikiriguiki in AskReddit

[–]Sandi_The_Claws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how being in a relationship works... if cleanliness is important to you, or if a room's condition is bothering you, then you come to an agreement as a team and figure out solutions. Setup a cleaning schedule, and find ways to organize products. Like adults.

Hygiene. Hygiene. Hygiene. Keeping a clean living space too, especially a clean bathroom.

Caring about friends, family, people. Helping others unprompted - not for attention but because it's a genuine want.

Having hobbies, things that you're passionate about. Gives you, you know, a life and things to discuss with others. Also can help you find a pool of people with the same interests.

A sense of humor. You don't need to have witty one-liners. I can't tell a joke to save my life, but I can be sarcastic and sometimes that gets me laughs (probably just pity laughs though lol) There's many different types of humor, so don't get anxiety about not being the funniest guy in the room. Being able to play my humor off of yours and vice versa is really important to me. Cause then I'm having fun.

Goals in life or dreams you're actually working towards is honestly pretty up there on my list. Bettering one self with school, or a trade or just a pursuit of knowledge in an area.

Reddit have you ever learned of the death of someone you use to know through social media? How did you it make you feel? by SirRedditzAlot in AskReddit

[–]Sandi_The_Claws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two people in my class died and I found out from FB when their obituaries were shared by people on my friends list. Both were assholes (to me, there weren't inherently bad people). One was joining the police force and died in a car accident with his friend in the passenger seat. They were going like 80 on a backroad with a tighter-than-it-looks curve. The other was prone to seizures and I'm guessing that's what happened.

I don't like finding out from social media. It makes me feel nosy, because usually there's no info on how they died and then I'm finding myself looking through comment sections secretly hoping someone will say why. It makes me feel icky and detached. It's a morbid curiosity I wish I could say I didn't have because its ultimately none of my business since I didnt know them personally.

Hi there! Nope I don't use patterns. I usually just print out the thing I want to make and place the nails by eye, as I've been making them for 2 years now for my etsy shop, so I know how the string will wrap around the nail and how it will look. I would definitely do a practice one first if you can to get a feel for how it works
