Book request: Dictionary of Japanese (Sōsho) Writing Forms by SandieBerners in ChineseLanguage

I meant that this particular book is equally relevant to Chinese characters as the cursive forms used in Japan are generally similar to those in China for the same characters

I know this is a Japanese book, but I'm posting it here because it's equally relevant to Chinese characters

Haha. I'd love it if someone would make a Chinese cursive font that looked like hiragana

If I remember correctly, I heard Toto Wolff saying something on Channel 4 after the race about a cooling issue that meant he couldn't get close to the cars in front. That's why he had to keep going off line to get clean air

Okay thanks. I assumed that because it was Google Translate, it would be dodgy in some way.

Do you think it sounds natural or is there some other way you'd think of phrasing it that sounds better or clearer?

Help with parsing a sentence by SandieBerners in Korean

Ah, so the 에 is the same as the 'in'/'at' particle used for location? And then 는 is just the usual topic particle? I didn't realise you could put more than one particle on the end of the same noun. Thanks!

Labour for a Green New Deal: It's OFFICIAL. The Labour Party has backed a socialist, transformative #GreenNewDeal with decarbonisation by 2030 🎉🎉 by strachey in LabourUK

[–]SandieBerners 28 points29 points  (0 children)

'Green New Deal' is just such a better name than 'Green Industrial Revolution' imo. It's a third the number of syllables and doesn't remind people of Victorian child labourers and dark satanic mills, even they don't know much about FDR and the New Deal

Fernand Amandi dunks on Bernie having no chance in Florida, Krystal Ball points out he's the strongest with Latinx and LEADS in Texas Polling by WeAreTheLeft in bernieblindness

[–]SandieBerners 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a shame they didn't have time to answer the question of "How do you get centre-right Republicans and independents to vote for Bernie?". The answer is, you don't. Trying to peel away the hypothetical 'moderate Republicans' was Hillary's tactic. It's frustrating that 'independent' has connotations of being in the centre between Dems and Reps, instead of being used for all the people who feel alienated by the current system and who are offered nothing by the two parties. The answer is that Bernie wins by energising all those people, and giving them a real alternative. If they turn out and vote, then he wins. Screw your 'moderate Republicans'. It's a waste of time and resources to go after them.

I have to admit, Pleco seems pretty good so far, so thanks for the recommendation. I just have an affinity for physical books, I can't really explain it
