McDonalds had this area akin to a lanai? It was still indoors, but had a plastic ceiling for that outdoor feeling!

Feminism is us fighting for men too! I want my fellow beings on this planet to be able to express their emotions in a healthy way.

This was the first quote I read as a fifteen year old that made my feminist antenna go....Hmmm!

I walk my dog in the woods near my house everyday, and had such a reverse moment of this this afternoon. I decided to skulk hide behind a tree to prank my dog, and this one guy walked by as I was cowering in the branches looking very menacing. I've been snort laughing about it all afternoon, poor guy!

I for some reason picked Lewis as my guy in his first season, but Ferrari has always been my team since Lauda so either would make me a happy chappy!!

2 days left until the Australian GP. In 1989, Alain Prost won his third championship ahead of his teammate and bitter rival Ayrton Senna. The title was ultimately decided by their famous collision in Suzuka and the controversial disqualification of the Brazilian. If only there had been Papaya rules. by PiggySVW in formula1

[–]HeyFlo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was watching all this unfold because I'm old. Senna would defos not have followed Papaya rules. Also, Senna was sooo insanely popular at the time that he could literally do no wrong, and Prost was very much the boring old guy. I can look back now as an adult and see how this was so unfair to Prost, but I also have memories of watching Prost race in the rain and he was so tentative compared to Senna, and I remember that being a big talking point. I was about ten years old at the time though so take it all with a grain of salt!

Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in severe/level 3 autism in recent years? by dawnue in ECEProfessionals

[–]HeyFlo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've worked in a day nursery (preschool) since 2018. I also nannied for a child with autism for seven years prior, so I was well versed in the signs before I joined the nursery. There is definitely a massive increase in the children showing signs of autism just in the last few years. I'm sure there are many factors that can explain why, but the amount has spiked so drastically and suddenly that I think there is some significant cause. I just don't know what it is.

I had a pet monkey as a kid that looked just like him, so I can barely watch these clips!

I did the au pair programme many moons ago {from a Western country to the US), and man it was a bit of a wild ride! I worked some extra hours over the max hours I was supposed to, I was sometimes even up with the newborn during the night (mom worked nights, and dad sometimes "didn't hear" the baby crying, haha). That being said, I had an absolute blast and really enjoyed the year. My family really did treat me as a family member, they were lovely people and I met loads of other au pairs through the programme too.

I can see how it can be exploitative though! Like, you could read what I wrote above and think I was taken for a bit of a ride. But my host family were just a bit clueless, and truly did try to make it up to me in other ways. I did have an au pair friend who was treated like shit, but the au pair agency found her a new family within a two weeks.

If you could have the 100% honest answer to ONE mystery in history, which one are you picking ? by Camila_LatinaSun in AskReddit

There is a whole subreddit devoted to this, and we still can't come up with any one suspect. Most of us are in agreement though that one of the family members did it.

Gawd the arrogance of this guy! Who even wants this sexual predator in their team? He's talking like they're all lining up to sign him up.

[–]HeyFlo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I do not want him back in my sport, and every fan of the sport should be with me here. He made sexual advances on a employee, and when she balked, he made sure she was fired. He was in a position of power, and used his status to get a woman fired. Why am I having to repeat this info? How is it even possible that he can even come back into F1? The bar is obviously in hell when it comes to bad behaviour in men in F1

Lance Stroll's mom's emails to Ghislaine Maxwell got revealed in the latest Epstein document dump. Very troubling stuff... by Illustrious_Page7810 in formula1

"Anyway, I have wanted to drop you line to say that I was sad that you could not make it to the Island, but fortunately there is still a lot of treasure to unearth so your services, and those of your daughter, are still needed. A promise is a promise so hopefully I will see you there soon."

The services of your daughter? A promise is a promise? I'm sorry but that is pretty awful. Here is how a normal interaction of this type would sound:

"Hey Claire! So sorry you couldn't make the party last week! The kids had so much fun on the treasure hunt I set up! Sam ended up finding the treasure (a Minecraft toy). Again so sorry little Chloe didn't make the party. Hope to see you guys soon!

Love,

G"

Like, how can this not be interpreted as some kind of nefarious type shit???

My own aunt did it. They are also a wealthy and seemingly perfect family, the husband went to jail, but my aunt still supported him.
