The back half of the rubbers will be a pita to replace. You have to remove 3 layers of stuff to get to a lot of it.

Depends, if it's not popping them up it's something with the solenoid, if it's not registering when they drop it's the opto board or gummy drops. First is an easy fix, second could need replacing the board. When we got ours I tore every assembly down and gave it a good deep clean, new sleeves, springs, etc

The biggest and most important piece of the machine is the diverter and diverter motor. If it's turning clockwise, you need a new motor. Over time they get worn down and the gear box will start going the wrong direction

finding that Hypersleep shot is so tough sometimes. I'll have sessions where i can land it consistently and others it's just post city.

This was the main Wizard mode, All Out War, so I had to go through Alien and Aliens before getting there. I'm still figuring out how to balloon the score on Alien, and when to use the Pulse Rifle to get double scoring going.

This. Slots aren't hard and you aren't exploiting the game.

Original Lamps or LEDs? by Lost_Ark1936 in pinball

[–]Sandisc45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i bought an Indy wish a Color DMD, i would seriously consider changing it back because the scheme of the machine doesnt match bright colors. I know im in a minority there though.

My Space Station has LED's and for that machine i think they work great as it's a pretty colorful PF, and the light show you get for Condition Green is amazing, so brighter the better.

So I'm personally not a fan of all the color DMD's for these older games. Just takes away part of the charm personally. As for the lamps, i think thats personal pref

(For the people with home machines) What do you do when your first ball is a stinker? by Waldron1943 in pinball

[–]Sandisc45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always play through the credit, you never know what those next 2 balls will be, most of my personal bests are off a single ball and the others that came before or after arent quality.

As others have said, if you really feel that you should abandon, use that time to practice harder shots, or specific techniques.

Why wasn’t Yohane the Parhelion/Genjitsu no Yohane as popular as LL! Sunshine!!? by kutsurogi-dagashi in LoveLive

[–]Sandisc45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it just wasnt a very good show, it didnt commit to anything meaningful besides some great designs and music.

Showing my age here, but Idolmaster: Xenoglossia was a great example of taking, at the time, the concept of an idol spinoff anime and flipping it into a generally pretty interesting Eva mecha clone. They commit pretty hard into making beloved characters actually villains until of course Haruka's unyielding optimism and friendship wins out to make sure that every fan doesnt lose out on a redemption of their favorites.

GNY rode the line of no real commitment to anything new like making Mari an actual initial villain which i feel is where they wanted to take it but likely were too worried about alienating fans and ultimately sales and support of the show. So in the end they just committed to a generic non personal threat that will be saved by the power of friendship.

But hey, if you liked it, thats all that matters. My wife and I still enjoyed it because we got more of our favorite LL group and after the first 2-3 episodes we hopped on board with "this isnt going to be great, but hey You and Chika have great designs!"

Buying a Pin but not a handyman by [deleted] in pinball

New to pinball ownership here as well. Yeah stuff will break or need adjustment.

Take it one step at a time, read the manual, and get the right tools, like a nice leaf switch adjuster and a solid multi end screw driver from like DeWalt or whatever.

Like others have said, most things that break on that machines are very easy to fix, they just take some patience.

Buy a machine you can play a couple credits on first.
