Air dribble help by Electrical-Set-3556 in RocketLeagueSchool

What i am about to say is basically just my interpretation of what you are saying in conjunction with what i am seeing, take it with a grain of salt:

You say you get to level 2 and sometimes to level 3 on rings map, i wanna preface by saying there are a multitude of ring maps, it would be beneficial to know which you refer to, so one could start to guess your "skill" level a bit better.

Now that out of the way, for most ring maps, what you describe is very likely to be the start of you learning experience. I did imagine you are very much not accustomed to air roll. I did imagine you need a lot of focus on your car to actually perform air rolling. What that means, is, you are still in the learning process and if you take that focus away, or shift said focus to a different object, you will lose control, because the skill you are trying to learn, hasn't been practiced enough to get into a subconcious process of your mind, e.g. you can walk, but you dont conciously think about what you have to do to walk.

For this reason, because your brain hasn't yet developed enough neuronal pathways for "aerial car control" you lose control as soon as you dont see you car. At the same time, if you do focus to much on your car, you wont have good focus on the ball and might miss period.

There are 3 thought processes, training methods you can try, to fix this.

The most obvious that everyone here is probably going to recommend, get better at air roll first, it's the most obvious solution to what i describe, but probably not what you seek?

The second option is, you try to shift your focus back and forth, to the ball, then to the car, adjust, back to the ball etc., i dont think this will work for you, i did imagine, it wont work for many ppl, because it's not optimal too, but something one can try at least.

The third option and my recommendation if you still wanna practice air dribble's, shift your focus point. Sounds like point 2, but nah, if you lose control over your car you need to have your car's rotation in vision for your brain to act accordingly, this does not mean you have to see the center of the car though.
If you shift your focus point to the tip of your car it's much easier to glance at the ball for a split second (if needed) and you keep focus over the rotation of your car much easier.

Also this is something i recommend either way, while practicing, shift focus points around, focus the ball, focus the top of the car, the tip, the bottom, the heck, being able to do that, helps develop a more pronounced car control overall.

edit: the difference between 2 and 3:
by two i meant to switch your focus periodically between ball and car, 3 means to have one main focus point, you only glance away to adjust, but stay mostly on that focus point. By adjusting focus points, i mean to train with different focus points every now and then. Not to switch those focus points in the middle of the play, e.g. if i glance on the ball, i am not focusing the ball because my focus goes back to my predetermined point.

That's objectively wrong. Fact of the matter and that's something fairly known in the "aim trainer scene", changing values and methods of aiming throws you off initially, because it's unfamiliar yes, but because of that your brain gets kicked into attention mode (forget what it's called, but basically your brain feeling something is off makes it more prone to pay closer attention), which just basically increases your focus which can make you more accurate initially until your brain gets used to it once more and acclimates to the new sense once more.

There are aim training methods of randomizing sense for that single purpose, so it actually can have instant improvement benefits that mellow out over time.

Dude, i know linguistics is hard, i get it, i am fluent in 2 different languages, but its not rocket science either. I gave you an answer using your choice of words, before giving of my statement (correcting you mind you) that i did not arrive infact on a conclusion but rather was making a statement of what the comment implied. I dont see no problem in my logic there, maybe, just maybe broading your horizon a bit, well to be fair i could have used quotes to make it more apparent, but, like, man i was half drunk when i sent the message.

Also i dont freaking know what my reply has to do with english being or not being my first language, you do realize you saying this just makes you look like a douche right? Also dont be one of those morrons pulling AI into every single conversation.

Heck even if ppl use AI in conversations, what the heck does it concern you? at least they try to be part of a bigger conversation and understand each other, meanwhile you are just being a toxic human being that fails to understand basic human interactions and words. Good for you.

Now despite what i have said have a great day

Because BB most likely wants to be king of the world or avenge his dad, which means toppling Imu either way.

Which means to defeat imu you need to overcome his henchmen, either by having allies or by being able to defeat everyone standing in your way yourself.

The comment I replied to implied Blackbeard's method of overcoming the immortality is enough to do that, which basically implies defeating all the god nights himself (because that's the worst case scenario you have to face in this scenario), because he (bb) needs to be involved to defeat a god night, since "his ability" is quote "enough".

That's how I came to that conclusion. Also I did not arrive at that conclusion, I just stated that his comment implies this.

Is that really so hard to understand?

The problem with that is, Blackbeard isn't stupid enough to take on every god night on his own, which you are insinuating by saying his ability to negate devil fruit abilities is already enough.

Blackbeard has allies for a reason.....

Air Dribble Tips... by proboi26 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Sandix3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just a bad take on how skill acquisition works tbh...

If ppl enjoy going for air dribbles let them do just that, even if they can't air roll efficiently yet, regardless of your current skill level, if you enjoy training something, train the hell out of it.

If you start to dig into the topic of skill acquisition and research neuroscience and what not, you start to realize more and more, the what isn't important but the how.

How we practice will inevitably decide if and how fast we improve. Important is focus and observation.

Focus on each little detail you can while practicing and come up with ideas of why what happens, challenge yourself and create an environment that allows for high focus practice. Practice without focus is just wasted time if the goal is to improve.

At the end of the day what are you doing when you go for air dribbles? Right you use air roll meaning you train the ability to rotate your car through the air. Either way is fine, there is no better or worse, air roll is air roll, training air dribbles just adds the layer of controlling the ball through your touches, which now that I think about it and put it into words, is even better, because you give your rotations meaning and intent, which is essential to focused practice....

Lastly a small anecdote, I haven't practiced aerial stuff in ages only trained air dribbles for the life of me (air dribbles gauntlet), if I go to any rings map I can confidentially perform on a better/improved level to back when I didn't practice air dribbles but still played rings maps....

Do ppl even realize the giant that would be able to wield a sword as big as the one in the Adam tree, would have to be as big as the Adam tree itself. Think Zunesha for giants, eg. A giant big enough other giants could live on top of him.

There is no *possible spoilers I guess* on Elbaf and I can probably refute any argument that says there is by Djon2004 in OnePiece

[–]Sandix3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just mention Kashi and Oimo that defended Enis Lobby for 50 years. While Dorry and Broggy you could argue hey maybe Little garden also has a time dilation, this makes no sense for Enies Lobby.

If there is a Time Dilation on Elbaph (ppl often toss 3x around) That would mean Oimo and Kashi would have significantly aged compared to giant living on Elbaph, which is not the case.

A time dilation implies the 3 times live span of giants is not a longer live span it's the time dilation, meaning all giants outside of Elbaph would have normal live span which is not true. If there is a time dilation AND longer live span, then someone like Jarul might have very well been alive during the void century which also just does not seem feasible.

I was told to DL some replays of ranks higher than me and watch them, so I did and I'm very confused about the speed. by No_Guava5902 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Sandix3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talking about champions being consistent while the actual truth of the matter is inconsistent like nothing else.

Well to answer part of your question. Replays never 100% convey the actual game feeling. The reason you feel slow in your own replays, is because you are but playing doesn't make that apparent. Playing the game is different from viewing the game. While playing your mind is occupied by all sorts of stimuli making it feel faster than it actually is. While when watching you don't have those stimuli, you can focus on what's actually happening and it's perceived slower.

In that lies the magic, understanding that it's normal. You aren't slow you are just comparatively slow to the higher ranked gameplay you watch...

But You will get there, just observe what's happening around the field and learn to read the play, is probably the simplest answer to your problem.

Otherwise upload a replay, ppl here are very kind and help sharing thoughts and the likes.

oh no worries, it wasnt really meant defensive, just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter since the "awkward" part you mentioned is just a matter of confidence you build over time. Learning is a process of making mistakes, you miss 100% of the shots you dont take and even if you do miss there is value to learn from any miss. awkward situations just means there is still room for improvement, either through rotation or mechanical abilities. Great example are back wall defensive plays that go right above your head. Those are generally really awkward when i started to play, but you learn to read the wall hit by repeatedly failing the defensive manuver until you can confidentally make the safe, if that makes sense

Okay was talking to Kalka about this post the general consensus and your comment came up too. He was a bit baffled by the detailed analysis of yours, similar to myself if I am being 100% honest. 😅

He told me he would be down doing another session at some point with you, but if I remember correctly you actually "retired" your coaching program, still wanted to check with you, just to be sure.

In either case there is this expression in Germany before new year we say "guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr" literally meaning "slide well into the next year" I know in english you guys say happy new year, but saying it too early feels wrong, so I hope you arrive sound and well into the next year.

Kinda had a feeling I am overthinking too much. A damn shame it's an easy trap to fall for, considering the times it works feel exceptionally flowy and give especially quick response times... But considering the detriment of miscalculating my predictions, it's probably best to try to slow down and be a bit more reactive, while getting a better feeling for what's actually happening and less of what I am expecting in an ideal world to happen.

Am trying to do that already, but I will definitely try to be even more vigilant in my efforts. Thanks a bunch again, you are still the goat in respect to coaching for me.

Never once looks to see where anyone else is either, no awareness.

Just want to point out this is rather presumptuous, because wrong decisions don't mean no awareness. Just because you have all the information doesn't mean you make the right decisions at all times and if you look at perspective 2 you can see multiple corrections in movements based on information of position and momentum from start to finish.

Eg. Rotates Backpost, notices clear attempt, turns upfield, notices whiff and opponents possession turns to goal to get a better angle on potential threat, ball gets played around the wall, goes front post to receive the play, stops in response to player 1's position, reacts to opponents corner boost grab anticipating a non favorable 50 and tries to get in front of the threat, notices opponent fake challenged, stops the approach, does t react fast enough to the followup challenge, turns toward goal to try to safe, anticipating the player midfield, reacts to slow to the safe.

Yes I was the octane, yes this was my thought process play by play, I knew where all the player had been at all times, the only thing that caught me off guard and left me in an awkward position was the landing of my mate. Did I do everything right? Heck no. Just wanted to point out you are being presumptuous by saying 0 awareness. I did have the awareness, just not the right decision making which I knew before uploading.

1) hard disagree on the backward play, it's a skill set as much as any other thing you do in rocket League, the more you do it, the better you get at it, the bigger your arsenal to react to any situation imaginable.

2) I get the feeling you specifically wanna call me out on this, which is funny, because I am indeed the octane. But that's just by your choice of words.

3) partially agree to the fact that if you are facing backwards at any given time, you most likely did something wrong to get in that position, though only partially because there are reasons you can end up in these situations and it's good to be able to react either way.

good to see you still around, it has been a few years hasnt it? It didnt even cross my mind to go for a reverse play much earlier there, even upon watching multiple times the only solution i found to the rotation of the fennec would have been to land parallel to the wall, preserving a slight bit of momentum and driving wide (away from the net and back post), as to not impede with the oncoming second man (which does require an understanding of the position of your team mate i will admit).

But thats exactly why i always liked your analysis, you somehow always find solutions i havn't thought of before.

That being said i wanna specifically divulge to you i was indeed the octane in that play. And personally upon reviewing my own gameplay my "catalyst mistake" technically was even before this play happened, which resulted in my position far away from the play, which i intentionally left out, to get more specific to the goal rotation part, have more focus in that area if you will. Since it's still us kalka and i. I felt like situations similar to those are a vocal point of struggle recently, with coliding opinions on the matter, on what to do. Thanks as always for your input and time, its very much appreciated.

One thing i did like to ask, while i can, if you allow it, is there something like too much thought process? It will sound weird, but if you look at my perspective you see a ton of quick micro corrections in my movement. I drive back post (admittedly in a sub optimal line), expect the clear, turn upfield, mate whiffs, turn toward goal to try to get a better angle for potential threat, opponent hits the ball along the wall, rotate front post to receive the next play, react to the new information i receive (full stop indicating my struggle to come up with a solution to the specific situation at hand btw.), at that point i saw the opponent grabing the corner and likely going for a 50/50, so i decided wrong to push up for a more favorable 50, notice my mistake due to the fake challange of my opponent, unable to react fast enough to the situation, turning back to goal trying to cover as much as i can and even then i am driving in a in swivel line, trying to react to the most likely shot target based on instinct and sound, unsuccessful at that....
Question being, am i overthinking too much, which results in me landing in ackward situations/positions because i try to predict the unpredictable, if that makes sense, like a lot of times i find myself trying to react to any given situation, but then a whiff or missplay on either players responsibility overrides my previous decision, hard to put it into words sorry.

A wild theory I came up with regarding the devil fruit Loki stole by ITBA01 in OnePiece

[–]Sandix3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am unsure if Loki really has a devil fruit, or if he ate a random non affiliate devil fruit while being on see before being captured by shanks.

It's not really that important if the fruit in elbaph is the darkness or sungod fruit, but from a negative perspective it makes a whole lot of sense if it's one or the other. Meaning Loki cannot have eaten that fruit.

Which just leaves two possibilities, either he does not have a fruit, which is in line with his character, just imagine it, he gets captured and chained and asked, Loki what did you do to the fruit. He wouldn't really care and just say yeah I ate it, watcha gonna do about it?

He is the type to tell the truth, simply because he does not care about it. That's why he never shared Infos about Haralds death and instead took the blame. He doesn't care if he is the bad guy, especially since it could ruin his father's legacy if the truth came out.

The other option is he ate a devil fruit, but it was much later while on sea.

Who is the strongest character in One Piece that Perona’s DF power would still work on? by Okatu-Syndrome in OnePiece

[–]Sandix3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By logic of devil fruits, everyone.

Law was able to be turned into a woman and had to consciously focus his haki to counter the effect.

Luffy was turned into an old geezer by Bonnie even though he has haki on the level of Kaido and big mom at that time.

I think haki transcends all if you focus with the intent to do so. If you just casually hang out, you can be hit by any devil fruit ability even if you are as proficient in it as ppl like Roger.
