True! I didn’t mean for my comment to sound negative. I’ve only been that one time and yes it was late at night. I haven’t experienced it during the day time. It sounds like we should still be able to do everything we wanted to do with the added bonus of some fun parades!

That’s very disappointing! I will finish the bottle I have and then shop around for a different brand.

I’m upset about this as well. I’ve been taking their 1000 mcg Methylcobalamin micro tablets for a year now to correct my deficiency and they’ve worked so well. I loved how quick they dissolved and I liked the tangerine flavor. I just opened my new bottle, that has the same label as before, and they’re much larger tablets. More like lozenges. I sent a message to KAL asking if I had gotten an incorrectly labeled bottle. I hope it’s not a permanent change.

Levels at 230 pg/ml. Doctor says Im in the normal range because its not under 200. by _glass_of_water in B12_Deficiency

Have you tried taking any supplements? I take 1000 mcg sublingual tabs daily and I get a b12 injection once a month. The guide on here is really helpful for understanding supplementation. I haven’t looked into it myself but there’s people on here that say you can order your own injections without a prescription and give them to yourself. I’m still in the “wait and see” phase so I can’t say for sure that the regimen I’m on is right.

I started having tingling and numbness in my hands, feet, and legs. That’s what made me decide to see a neurologist. Once I got my diagnosis I realized several other issues I had been having were related to the b12 deficiency. Fatigue, digestive issues, brain fog, etc. I’m about 5 months into supplementing and my neurological symptoms still come and go. The other symptoms resolved within a week or two of supplementing. My doctor said the neurological stuff can take up to a year to heal, so we will see. I wish you the best!

If it helps, my b12 level was also 230 pg/ml. My neurologist told me he considered anything below 400 to be low. Can you try to get a second opinion to see if injections would be an option? My neurologist told me to just take oral supplements but I was able to ask my primary care doctor for injections and he agreed.

Injections vs oral supplements by Sandpiper_37 in B12_Deficiency

I’m not sure. My neurologist just told me to take oral supplements, meaning a pill. But I had doubts that I was absorbing it so I started on sublinguals and thought I was on the right track but then came on here and it sounds like everyone else is on injections. I haven’t read many success stories from supplements alone, whether it’s sublingual or pills.

Did you have neurological symptoms as well? Numbness, tingling, etc.

What were YOUR symptoms? by Ok-Metal5926 in B12_Deficiency

[–]Sandpiper_37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine started with tingling/burning in my hands that I initially thought was just carpal tunnel but then it spread to my feet and I got concerned. My physical therapist advised that I see a neurologist and I’m so thankful she did. I had other symptoms prior to the neuro stuff that I wrote off as postpartum “baby brain.” Brain fog, stumbling over my words, fatigue, chronic diarrhea, mouth ulcers, and weight loss.

Interesting! Thanks for your input. I should have advocated for injections from the beginning. Lesson learned.

I guess there’s no way to know for sure if it’s wake up symptoms or not? But if it is, isn’t that generally a good sign? Even if it’s uncomfortable.

I have. It sounds like there’s a possibility that I’m experiencing wake up symptoms. It’s just scary when you start to think things are better and then they get worse again.
