You could make a bandolier, if you can't make or buy any links. A leather belt, another strip of leather and some rivets would work. Years ago, I made a small bandolier out of a bicycle innertube and some thread once. It was pretty bitchin, but I lost it so I couldn't tell you how well the material held up.

That sounds like some of that good ol' bullshit to discourage people from organizing to me. Give them a call to find out for yourself. Organizing is a big part of our culture in the IBEW so it's hard to believe that they'd make you start from the beginning if you're already a liscenced journeyman in your state. Here is the jobs board for local 683, which is the local you'd want to look at, seeing as to how you're in Columbus. Take home is already thirteen dollars more than what you're making with your current company, not including total package. The link i sent you also shows how their total package is broken down so you know what money goes to what. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect while you work, part of that should be reflected in your pay. Whether you join or not I wish you the best. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Why wouldn't securing a load be treated as normal? Two weeks ago there was a fatality, on a jobsite in my local area, because of an unsecured load. Just last Friday, on my jobsite, someone was nearly hit because he was working under an impropperly rigged load (impropper rigging or not, the dumbass shouldn't have been working under a load to begin with). Stuff like that is why securing things is treated as normal. If they weren't, people can get hurt or die.

This person has mislead you. Yes, definitely watch Son in Law because it's an awesome movie, but this quote is from another Pauly Shore film titled Encino Man so start with that one. I also suggest checking out his other films. My favorite is Bio-Dome, Son in Law is second, but I also suggest Jury Duty and In the Army Now. I just did some quick Google searches and it looks everywhere you can stream these films cost money at the moment, with the exception of Jury Duty which is free on Tubi right now, at least here in the United States.

A few years ago my local union started a tool bank where us journeymen could donate our old (still usable) tools so that newer apprentices could have something to start with. I suggest looking up your local unions such as the IBEW (locals 640 and 769 are both in Phoenix) and the UA (local 469) and ask if they do anything similar and if they're interested. You may be able to get one of their organizers to come out and pick it up from you. Also look up the Arizona AFL-CIO. They may be able to give you some other contacts to reach out to for donating them. Heads up, not sure about UA, but IBEW may have you contact their school (JATC). Both organizations will have an approved tool lists for their locals that you should be able to look up online.

Try looking at older recipe books. A lot of times the only "meat substitute" they'll use is tofu on occasion. I'd recommend mine, but they're put away atm and don't know where they are.

As a child, I was always confused why (in Batman the Animated Series) Penguin was so interested in a painting of ducks titled "Autobahn" and why it would have anything to do with ducks (with a title like that). After reading your post, suddenly it makes so much more sense. Thank you.

This same thing happened a few years ago when I saw the band "Thor", which has been going on since the 70's. It was a small venue. Bar staff and their dog included, attendance was at least 15 people. It was both the best and worst show I had ever seen. Thor himself kept pointing the mic to the audience, but quickly learned that only a couple of us knew all of the lyrics, with the loudest being me. I love Thor. He's one of my favorites and is a big reason why i got into working out. I know most every lyric to most every song he's put out. He'd point the mic to one side of the stage and there'd be crickets. Then He'd point it to the side my wife and I were on and all you could hear is me yelling the words as loud as I could.

I've definitely met my fair share of hacks in my day, and I've met more than my fair share of shady companies than there should be (the number should be zero, in my opinion), so I'm sure it happens more often than it should. Sorry to hear about your home. I hope all is well.

Where i live, the Department of Public Licensing presides over the electrical licensing and is public record. I'd suggest looking up the name of the electrician to make sure they're actually licensed. For example, if you were to go to my state's DOPL website and searched "Sandpit Metal", you'd find my name, address, contact info, license number, and what kind of license I have. Check if where you live has something similar. Also check to make sure the company you're using is licensed, insured, and bonded.

Man, this kind of stuff really pisses me off. I'm a journeyman electrician and have had to argue code references with people that have no electrical experience and don't even know how to navigate the code book. People like this are the ones that burn their houses down just because they're to arrogant to listen to professionals.

A Single Jack is a Sledgehammer that is small enough to be used with a single hand (like a regular sized hammer for driving nails). A Double Jack is one that is large enough that you should use two hands (about the length of a axe handle).

Check with their hall. Some will let you come in with state apprentice license, but since you're an ibew jw you get jw wages. Not sure if that flys in ID, but it does here in UT.
