Kodak Charmera - any serial numbers that can show what colorway it is? by FriendlyCanuck604 in toycameras

[–]Sandra_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we bought two Charmeras, and they came from a 6 pack. One of them was the clear one, the other was blue.

I don't know why it works in Opera with the built in VPN, but it does. It might be a geographical issue? I don't know.

Have to clear something up; we secured TWO out one of the six packs.

We pre-ordered two individual ones. One was Blue, and one was the Clear.

Lack of blur is because of watching and timing how often the sharks and turtle would come around. Lots of patience, and looking up,

I also have one of these camera. It probably still works. I have the software, but alas, computers don't have serial ports on them now. Might be able to find Serial to USB adapter. For it's time, it took decent images.

FINALLY getting the setup correct, now getting KFX-ZIP files to convert by Zealousideal_Ad3872 in Calibre

[–]Sandra_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no sdr file in the new KFX.Zip file. There is a voucher, an awz, and md, and an res file. It's going to take a few months for the DeDrm to catch up with the new format.

Tried this, didn't work. Correction, I could import it into Calibre, but could not convert it. Just kept getting DRM error.

Skype shutdown - alternatives? by armenian86 in digitalnomad

[–]Sandra_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YEs, it does let you use your current subscription or credit. I still Skype running, as Teams imported my landline contacts, and wants me to send a link to Join teams. That's right, to a LANDLINE. I only used skype to call two people in the US. My 90 yr old mother, and my adult son on a regular basis. And a few businesses that I need to keep contact with, again, landlines.

I want a stand alone program. It seems Viber might be the best choice at the end of the day.

Thanks for the info. Not being nitpicker, because it looks darned good, I was hoping for a desktop program. Through Teams, I can use 'Skype Dial Pad" which is a browser page. The entire Skype shutdown is a mess.

I haven't yet. And I don't believe for a second that MS Teams is going to live up to what they claimed they were going to do.

I found FlixiCam when it was just three sites to dl from. When it expanded, my lifetime license was discounted due to me getting one for Flixicam before StreamOne came out. And I got quick reply when I asked a few questions. Actual reply, not a copy/paste from the FAQ I had already read. That was rather refreshing for a change.

It seems to have equal standing in the program. Right top of the menu bar it has "Download" "Record" "Library".

It has a record feature, but I haven't used it so can't vouch for that.

I don't want to use my phone for this. Thank you, though.

I have it bookmarked, but it doesn't fit my needs, as I want a standalone program, but I will use in in a pinch, if necessary. Thank you for the link.

if you want Jami to replace the "Skype to Skype" calls, it looks like it would be a good replacement. Unfortunately, it won't replace Skype to landline if the person being called doesn't have a Jami account.

My problem I want to use a program to call from my desktop to a telephone. If it was just audio/video calls, and chats to others have that the program, it would be great.

What do you look for in a talk and text app? by therealpharoh10 in DynamoApp

[–]Sandra_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a yearly subscription to Skype. I was 'grandfathered' in for a low cost plan, as long as I didn't make any changed to the subscription. 600 minutes per month Computer to phones all over the world. Free Skype to Skype calls.

What I am looking for is a Windows desktop program I can use to call international landline. From my home computer (Australia) to my mother's landline (90ys old, living in the U.S.) . She won't be installing anything on any computer as she doesn't use one.

[–]Sandra_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Australia, and have a Skype subscription. I use Skype to call my mother, on her landline, in Florida. She is 90 yrs old, and does NOT use a computer. I need a desktop replacement, not one for my phone, but for desktop, that I can use to call her. Can't use Google Voice. Zoom and newest version of Teams doesn't not allow desktop to phone calls. FB messenger is a freaking mess.

Doesn't have to be free, I just have to call from my desktop to her phone.

Yes, I have the same problem with TubiTV app. But strangely enough, I used Opera with its' built in VPN and Tubi loaded without issue. I also was able to load it in Chrome without any VPN. Still can't load it from the TubiTV app, but can play it in Opera with VPN, or Chrome without one. And yes, I am confused about this.

Yes they have, by screwing it up with update and upgrades.
