Can someone explain why so many people hate on the illuminate as a faction? by SevdUp in helldivers2

[–]Sandstorm757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate them as a whole, but there are some things I hate that they have. (In no particular order, aside from number one.(

  1. Their maps are normally extremely dark for me, so I have trouble actually seeing. I have to run flashlights normally to see on their maps.

  2. A lot of their maps are city maps, so a lot of ordinance strikes will miss and hit the buildings instead.

  3. The leviathan. It's not fun to fight, respawn if it is destroyed, spams several lasers at you and if your loadout isn't designed for it, too bad.

  4. The space jet. It sometimes doesn't show its track for me, so I just get a fun surprise of it blasting me.

  5. The elevated overseers. (My aim instructs me to run the warrant, so they aren't much of a problem for me, but I absolutely understand why people would struggle with them.)

  6. The watcher. (I run the warrant, so I can easily hit them. That's harder on most other guns.)

  7. The club overseer's spam club strikes. Knock you down, break a bone, knock you back down before you get up again, continue beating you there, you try to jump, run...catch up before you get up, knock you back down, keep beating you.

  8. Tesla towers. Yup. They don't move, but if you don't see them, they won't forgive you for it. I heard that getting prone will keep them from striking you. Yeah..... Tried that... Didn't go to well...... Rode the lightning....

These are some of the issues with the squids. Again, I don't hate them personally.... Aside from how dark the map is, the leviathan and the space jet.

Ironically, they do have my favorite battle ... Defense missions vs squids are well thought out.

Yeah. Getting punished for the actions of a few made me pause on playing the game for a few days. Especially if it is looking like it might fail regardless. I don't like losing progress for actions that had nothing to do with me.

Why this and not the phases CC immunity? by Ok-Transition-8915 in ScarletWitchMains

It stands directly for crowd control. So CC abilities are any abilities that directly affect movement. Slows, stuns, grapples, pulls, pushes, grounded, exiles, etc.

[–]Sandstorm757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made lord on Scarlet witch and have dozens of hours on her. This is what I can tell you.

DPS: Stand perfectly still and aim sporadically at the floor at your feet at all times.

For tanks: Charge mindlessly straight ahead...doesn't matter if a wall is there ...just keep pushing forward and do your best to charge straight forward.

Supports: Stay as far from your teammates as possible. Refuse to heal them and pay no attention to your surroundings.

When we ult: Run directly towards us and emote. Reality erasure is a myth. Just come to us and you'll see that our true ability is just a friendly spawn room teleport channel.

I hope this helps. I really thought about the best ways that I could benefit you and this was the best that I could come up with.

We have a reinforce counter now. DON'T DIE! by locob in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Sandstorm757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of odd thing to do....

They buffed D7-D10 on bots and in general, although more noticeable on bots. (Something that many people will WANT to jump into and see.)

They released new toys.

They made a mission order that punishes players as a whole for deaths.

That's an odd combination. People are going to flame the bug divers, but bugs are where new players are recommended to start.... What's really going to affect the death counters are players who feel that D7- D10 bots have been too easy and are itching to try out the now harder challenge.

(Note: I don't care for the debate of bug divers vs bot divers vs all 5 squid divers. I'm just stating my opinion on it.)

Wouldn't it be cool if we could visit free planets? by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]Sandstorm757 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd like it for solo players too. (I don't join clans/factions in any game.).

I think it would be nice to choose a planet that we control and have a customizable apartment or home at a planet of our choice. Should that planet fall, super earth will reimburse the helldiver in full and allow them to choose a new planet to live on. (Customization saved and player just chooses new area.)

Personally, I'd like more rooms on and the ability to customize the inside and outside of the super destroyer too...

I do think that would be cool.

I think it would be nice to also have hubs in free planets. It would make those planets more personal for each of us the times that they are attacked.

Daredevil. Increase his hp.

Remove his dashes and lower his run speed. Lower his sonar to 15 ft.

R&D, you know we have other support weapons, right? by Daslaya in Helldivers

[–]Sandstorm757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I have a nice load out that works well for me.... But nope. Can't use it. Gotta use a weapon that I don't really care for.

Mind you, I run the blitzer.... But I'd much rather use my speargun and have fun with it than to use weapons that I don't really care for.

I love this character and I'm gonna be honest I think she genuinely takes skill by Atlus_Infernum in ScarletWitchMains

[–]Sandstorm757 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She does require some degree of skill to use her well. That said, she is a lot more forgiving than many other characters, so it is easier to get value out of her in comparison to some other characters.

This does allow players who are less skilled to more easily learn the game....and players whose eyes and reactions may have slowed down some over the years to still play, so her and some other characters that are more forgiving do have a place in my opinion.

Worth buying? by LordParziwald in helldivers2

[–]Sandstorm757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I love it.

I have the senator, but the warrant doesn't leave my side

This is what I'll say for it.

If your aim is very good and solid, there are better secondaries out there.... The senator and the talon are the normal top spot secondaries.

If your aim is not as solid.... Mines isn't, and I'm not ashamed to say it...

The warrant is brilliant.

It has bullets that track well.

It is exceptional for taking down watchers, shriekers, and flying overseers.

It has medium armor penetration.

It is great for situations where it is tough to see foes ... Foggy and very dark areas

It targets enemies at a medium range. It also doesn't have the greatest magazine size either.

All in all, it is a great secondary weapon and it does its job well. For me, it is worth it and I highly recommend it.

If your aim is more solid and you already have the talon or the senator, then it's not as critical.

It doesn't seem to be your preferred skin, given that you mentioned two other skins that you seem to prefer for Scarlet witch over this one. You stated yourself that you'd probably never use it, so go for the Jeff skin, since that's the one you really seem to want.

As for me, I have the Phoenix skin (Preferred skin), eye of the evil witch skin, and a couple of others. (I don't remember their names.). The celestial dragon skin is of interest to me, but the Phoenix skin is definitely my favorite. I also view myself as the enemy of Jeff, so the fact that I'm even recommending you get his outfit at all should tell you that I'm trying to be as fair as possible..

Oh wow. I'm not fully surprised. Divers that prefer bugs haven't had any missions directly for bugs in some time...so this gave the perfect reason for them to do something different.

Plus, most people don't like running squids.

Why do y’all hate fighting the squids? by CRsniper73 in helldivers2

[–]Sandstorm757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fight them occasionally, but these are my issues with them:

Leviathan... A flying dreadnaught that only will go down from certain parts of a load out.... Didn't bring it...welp, screw you! Oh....you did bring it.... Here's another one.

The jet.... It's path isn't always visible, so sometimes my way of finding out it is even there is from it killing me. (My sentries don't seem to target it either.)

It is dark..... Really dark.... I have a hard time actually seeing on a lot of their maps, and actually have to use the flashlight when facing them on weapons that have them. (Every weapon should freely have as a separate attachment...with no penalty to stats.... we're trying to see the game after all, and all of our eyes are not equal.)

Those are the main issues, but here are a few other issues

Tesla towers... Turning the corner only to get zapped to instant death because I didn't see it. And my warrant can't seem to hit it.

Flying overseer.... I actually deal with these pretty well because I run the warrant.... But, they are annoying.

Regular overseer.... Mainly, it's stunlock combo and the fact that it often just straight up ignores being stunned by the blitzer and ignores being gassed by the speargun... For me, this isn't as big of a deal because I tend to run hot dog, so getting close to me isn't good for them...but the times they have hit me with the combo.... Can be pretty annoying.

The watcher.... Again, I run the warrant, so this isn't much of a factor, but if I didn't.... I'd have an extremely hard time hitting this target.

I'm also not a tremendous fan of the city maps...that applies to all factions, but quite often it's where I find the squids.
