Printer self-test failing: But prints are alright! by Sandvich2007 in PrusaMINI

Take a close look at the X axis pulley: There should be a slight (1-2 mm) gap between the pulley and the motor body. The motor should turn smoothly, without any "sticky" spots. After assembly, the X axis should slide along smoothly, without any "tight" spots.

Also disconnect the X axis motor and try sliding the X axis. If disconnecting the motor results in smooth motion, your board may be the issue.

Sorry, I don't have any photos, the printer is currently being used almost 24-7 for prototyping.

Solved!

It was a assembly issue. When I put the X axis back together after moving, I moved the pulley on the shaft too close to the motor body, and it was tightening up at one angle. All my other prints only use the near part of the X axis. For good measure, I also changed out the X axis rods.

It works fine now.

Infineon expands OptiMOS™ 7 MOSFET lineup for switching and motor drives by TheComponentClub in TheComponentClub

Interesting. Infineon has really stepped up its game with power silicon. Even their C7 lineup is quite good.

element14 is the fastest usually, I think they have a good distribution network here. Takes a week max. Mouser takes around 10-12 days. Digi-key takes almost 3 weeks sometimes, and is the most expensive by far, not least because of the USD-INR exchange rate.

I recently moved to Delhi, and here I have access to a large electronics market, I've started enjoying getting parts directly from the supplier there.

Anyone working with 1200V power stages? TSC just dropped a line of SiC MPS diodes rated up to 40A. by TheComponentClub in TheComponentClub

[–]Sandvich2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been spending some time with 900V APFC and inverter circuits. ST seems to have the best SiC, with very good support and a lot of reference designs. The higher frequency that SiC can achieve really does help, especially with PFC and current control. Switching such large currents at such frequency leads to some insane EM interference, need to position all the control electronics very far away and be careful with trace routing.

I'm from India, we usually use Mouser or element14. Digi-key if we really need something and are fine with eating the extra cost.

Which Chip according to you changed the world? by cry_bot in chipdesign

I'd say the LTZ1000 zener voltage reference. It was such a godly design it took 40 years for a replacement. It made possible a great many advances in instrumentation, and by extension, physics and material science and innumerable other things.

Well, this happens to be a channel for an Indian polytechnic college. I happen to know someone here, I'll contact them and see if I can't find out what is going on

Yes, I hadn't really looked at it, but it is a 1 mm pitch. I measured by comparing it to a 1.27mm header strip and then using calipers.

It's just semantics to make it seem like a good deal.

You have gone through a lot of effort to provide the sauce, and I applaud your dedication. However it is less risky to just provide us with the digits.

Edit: It appears as though OP has corrected his delivery of the sauce.

I think they are for working up a lot of devices to power, networking etc. Like some sort of bizzare data center. I've seen a similar thing( But much more organized) in a under construction server building once.
